jus compared the data logged on the phone and maxis bill, quite accurate i would say. only off by 1-2mb.

Sorry if this has been posted before but I can't seem to find anything in this forum.

I have been having an issue with my iphone 4 (O.S 4.1). I use General -> Usage to track my data usage but it seems to be inaccurate. The other day I checked and my total usage was 100+mb up to that point of time. Later on that day, I decided to just go back and check again and to my shock, it registered 4GB incoming and 4GB outgoing!!!!!!  I was shocked so I called up Digi hotline to ask and they told me that my usage was only about 14mb total to date. So i figured that there might be a mistake, so I reset the counter. I also make sure that I don't enable 3G and mobile data if not in use cos I heard a lot of cases of data leakage. While these settings were off, I tried using safari with wifi (3G turned off) and also sending sms to confirm that these actions will not have an effect on the data usage counter. True enough, there was no impact.

So things were ok for a few days. Then just now, the same thing happened again. I opened "General -> Usage" and there it was again! Data received = 4GB and Data Sent = 4GB!!

Anybody experienced this can help?? If not, where can I seek help?

any comments on data usage accuracy? the *100# doesnt work, cannot check data. if u using mobile internet can, but i cant find a way to check if using ivalue

What is there to bluff? There are similar situations but I am looking for answers. What's the use of similar situations without answers? I wan to know what caused it. If you have any solutions, please share otherwise, don't just lazily call people lazy without understanding what people want first.

So do you know what cause the issue? From what I have gathered so far, people are just saying they are facing the same issue and calls to Maxis or Digi did not help. I don't see any solution or reason for this problem.

About the iphone data usage and maxis billing,
i am network engineer can answer you guys what is happening
maxis playing trick to get higher data usage count by increase 1kb to 10kb block
maxis internal show revenue on pay per use data charges shoot up to 30-40% after they change the charging block, so more 'so.high'  like us more easy to hit the RM250 trap
(note: 16/8/2010 is the date they start changing data block)

maybe we can collect all our over charges bill and show them to najib or some other high ranking official
i always believe maxis cant buy off najib, najib is clean !!!!
but i not trusting people below him, specially MCMC
always believe MCMC people been pay by Maxis management to keep the this trap open.

i think we should make complaint to Namewee(Negarakuku - Rapper)..perhaps he can make a new song & grab the government/Najib attention...lolZzz..

arghhhhh .. today i got HIGH bill from maxis... total about 598!!!!!!!!!!! wahhhh so high even inever used data for 1 month .. i off the service already.. off 3g, off cellular data.. how come when the bill came got high data usage.. i only use when got WIFI coverage... arghhhh.. my bill same amount for car payment..

took up ivalue1 on 27/9 and im not supposed to use more than 500Mb till 16/10. what a nonsense reason by maxis. somemore ask me to pay the extra charges due to exceeding allocated data. sorry kiss my ass i wont pay even single cent. total data usage on bill is 782,XXXMb and where got i exceed 1gb.

they keep repeating that i was only able to use the data around 500mb and 1gb is valid for next month. how on earth should i know nobody mention that thing to me.

after 30-45 mins with questions and answers finally they waived the charged amount, i pay 106 only from total 227.

u need to clarify what went wrong. if not exceeding data usage u go tell them and ask them to waive.
