Hi, I think we are in the same situation, where we bought the iPhone at Maxis (for the warranty) but using the different telco. As mine, I'm under Celcom for the pass 1 month. So, far I never have problem with the network for 3G. Yes, sometimes they drop the lines and all, but I've been encounter it ever since I've been using BlackBerry, last time. So, to me it's not the gadget problem, but the network.

Neway, accually, Maxis DO NOT lock the phone for that service, coz if they wanna lock, not only you don't have the access to the 3G but the whole network. So, the problem definiately comes from Digi.. Maybe the only way is you just walk in to any Digi and ask for the problem. But before hand, never mention to them that your device was bought from Maxis.. untill they ask... which usually after they have done everything to troubleshoot.

A day after I bought my Maxis set at Low Yat, I went to Maxis KLCC to fix my MMS problem. Which I can't see the camera icon on my SMS/MMS message and my keyboard has not pop out when I'm trying to email. After a few minutes (almost half an hour), they have fixed the keyboard problem but not the MMS. At the end, they gave such a lame reason - because you are under Celcom, sebab tu tak bole. I wasn't that happy with the answer, but I don't even bother to ague with the SA. At the end, I did some trial and error, wallahh.. now I can easily MMS anyone.

So, the bottom line is, the SA kat Maxis tu bukannya bole dipercayai sangat! Huhu... not enuff training OK!

FYI, I had the problem data leakage problem but it was solved after I installed Bossprefs. Recently I've been experiencing credit leakage again even though I'm always on wifi and turned off my EDGE.

Maxis has finally swallowed my RM35 T_T

And before this happen, I have go to a Maxis Center, be it dealer or branch, from Wangsa Maju to KlCC to Times Square...

Guess what, all of the give me different answer for a same question, until they push me back around the center that I visited.

Out of my frustration, I told them,
"if i am to go back to the Maxis center, u all have no reason to open so many branch"
"this is not the first time Maxis say this can be done and the next day say it cannot be done"

And here is the fella reply: "Ya, I am sorry, Maxis is always like that"

Again I m stunned

again and again im stressing, you cannot turn of EDGE. even if u use SBsettings or bossprefs to off it, you will notice the 'E' symbol still there from time to time.

also, even if u turn it off, your phone is going to use GPRS to get the data.

what you need to do is turn of DATA.(there is a toggle by this name)

But the weird thing is, before this I turned off EGDE via Bossprefs no data leakage what-so-ever. I went into any app that requires internet it came out "No Internet Connection". Is there something in Cydia to turn off DATA? Never seen one in Bossprefs

Yeah you can, via network tethering

with sbsettings if u turn off data the letter E will still appear but ur ip address has changed fr operator assigned to 127.0.0.1. Which means no data can pass thru. 127.0.0.1 is localhost reserved ip address.

i juz switch to digi using the blackberry smart plan..turn out the service keep dropped ...n sometimes it shows no service..hard to get to 3g if inside building or house ... terrible speedtest juz now..30kb dl 30b ul

where is your locations? i plan to swith to Digi Smartplan, i am having the same concern, please share with us ur experience if you could.

I want to ask when in the month maxis will reset my data usage and recount? i need to know when to reset my usage statistic so that it will be synced with my maxis acc. Is it the date on current bill?

for this u hav 2 call n ask maxis CS..if not mistaken...it starts at every 14th of the month

Got story to share..I am iValue 1 maxis user..my bill date was on 24th every month..this is what happen..I check my bills on 23th night via *100#

23/4 : RM63.++ (forgot to save the image demmm~ )
24/4 : RM 249.++

my credit limit is rm150!!

my data usage in iphone showed only 249mb received + sent
I didn't JB my phone and I dont think the data counter should be in so much difference..
I was on Wi-Fi on my working days..ony night use it for FB and surf..

Called maxis CS and she said cannot view my bills yet because today is weekend.can only view it this monday..OMG..
have to wait this monday and see how is it going..

this is very true, i work in the KL, where i know my office is within DiGi's 3G coverage, my office is quite near to Puduraya. but it is very hard to get 3G when im in the office, it keeps dropping back to edge. but as soon as i exit the building, the 3G sticks. imho, digi have to do something abt this, though their data plan is one of the best in the market, the coverage is another story.

switch to digi..it's a smarter choice with unlimited data usage

i think coverage is not d prob...cs when i leave the building..it back to 3G again ... so the main concern is how to get strong signal even inside a building

well bro on your 23 the rm63 it is your outstanding from the previous bill or unbilled credit???if it is outstanding then it means that is your previous month bill which you havent settle yet...so add up the total is rm249,so usage would be rm180....if it is you unbilled then you usage is rm249...sometime even your credit limit is rm150..normally is only call...it means for that month you call till your cr limit then your line would be barred..imagine you calls are rm80...your cr rm150...line wont barred but on billing date rm80 will be add on the data usage/tax/services....the they are charging you the total...

I facing the same problem too. My iPhone data counter just reach 400mb++but then maxis charge me at 820 mb. Normally my bill within rm 120-150. Till last month,my bill bcom rm 300++. I was shocked when see the bill. Go klcc argue but they just trust their system data counter. Just beginning of April till yesterday ,I already pay rm 300 for current bill bcos maxis going to barred my line due to data issue.

After a week my data usage on the receiving/ sent end is below 1.5mb. I think its good yeah.

I used to maxis already..and I'm on 12 month contract for the iPhone..so I think I have to bear with it until the contract finish..

Its was my unbilled credit..but the thing here..I got 2 sms from maxis one saying my bill is RM 249 and another one come after that saying that it was RM 200..haha..I think this Monday gonna argue with them..

I believe from what I read from this forum that the data usage counter shudnt be in so much different with maxis counter since I didnt JB my phone..I am using wi-fi 5 days a week and I hardly YouTube-ing..maxis always try to suck up other people money..
