oh my, it is sad to hear from those who havin the YLOD, as for me i'd hitted by this probs for nearly a year oredi, it was really frustrating, by this sunday my new SG unit will be home coming.

for fixing sucess ratio i can say its 50 - 50 chances, don't put high hope on it as it will brings you down aswell...

let say if you're lucky to be revived again, do sell it & get da new one. trust me there was many out there wish it could be revived that couldn't...one of them was me...

not recommended, I'd an external fan used for the unit, it will caused a lot of dust sucked into the ventilation hole & will stuck in then cause over heating.

***if someone got this you'll notice that ps3 fans were running at low speed to medium range then to the maximum speed...
***i believe that if the unit fan tend to run at high speed for just a few minutes it has been turned on, please do clean up the unit by forced air blower or by household vacuum machine.
***HDD slot need to be open & clean up frequently, I'd notice a lot of dust always trapped there.

nyet... any picture to show.. which air blower to used?
and.. what kind of tool you used to open HDD slot..

there is once i try to open it... but seem i can't open it... almost screw up.. the "screwdriver holes"

hang pakai screw driver saiz ape dol? screw HDD slot tu klo xsilap dia bikin ngan aloy, cpt ghusak.

klo dah lebu masak laa nk bukak, ko carik test pen yg dh ghusak hang pi asah sampai tajam mata dia (leper + curved), then hang godek sampai bukak.

***hati2 jgn sampai tertikam HDD tuh, pegang leklok then put force + lawan arah jam

***salah satu model handy air blower...


p/s: jgn pakai compressed air pump (pum enjin angin kat kedai motor), coz compressed air pump nieh ader zarah air, jgn guna pakai tuh, ghusak nati...

external fan kindda useless dude...dont help much to cool down the console itself...just put ur console at well ventilation place.
