Hello Everyone,

I juz got the much dreaded YLOD i think...
Was playing sf4 online n suddenly my ps3 off itself.
Try to on back the machine, red light... press on, green light - yellow light then flashing red lights...
My sf4 still disc stuck inside... luckily colt508 gave me an advice to get my disc out but the ps3 still dead...
Haih... my ps3 bought november 2007 japan set... no warranty whatsoever...

Any recommendations where is the best place to fix it? IF can fix at all?

Lepas tu saya pun pm sini sana, ada kedai mau repair but cakap 50/50,
Tak dapat repair pun kena charge juga. Tengok nasib saja.
Sampai saya terbaca thread playtime yg dia mempunyai rework machine terbaru utk repair YLOD,
Saya pun tanya lah, confidence yg dia jawab saya, ok lah saya pun try and true enough,
SUDAH REPAIR!!!
That's why i recommend them, less bullshit talk, straight to work.

I dun think he's flaming you in any way.
If you get offended, then you should state your facts as well...
saying u fix ur own ps and it's working great does not explain alot.
How u repair? Using heat gun follow youtube guide ke apa?
Get the facts out and the argument will be stronger...
I know alot of shopkeeper not to mention individuals who claim can fix YLOD but bila push comes to shove and problem arise? Alasan beribu ribu... I know coz i've busted not one but 2 ps3... i ask around in LYN alot of times and all kinds of answer i get... one of my ps3 masih dgn satu kedai more than 6 months belum repair lagi...
This is my 2nd ps3 yg busted and Tim fixed it for me, so i guess his words carried more weight i guess...

Then I must say you're too sensitive...
Most technicians doesn't mean you only...
Check the board, not only you alone offering services to fix YLOD...
Wether really competent or not, I dunno,
But i think the best way is, start your own thread on YLOD fixing,
Sort of like a shop or something.
Once people start commenting about how good a job you've done, then you're really good.
No one can talk anything about u coz there are people backing you up...
Feedback is the keyword.
Until then, i wish you good luck on your venture...

Regarding his words carried more weight than yours, unfortunately yes for me coz there is one simple reason,
He fixed my ps3... and until now, i have yet to see anybody coming to your defence....

And I agree with jsc_tidus...

If more people know how to fix YLOD, it's better for people who are YLOD sufferers.

Ok, if you think whatever Tim says it's about you, then fine... it's about u...
He have his own thread, that's why he's stating the necessary facts...
If you have a shop selling services to fix YLOD, wouldn't you be lepaking in posts like this one trying to find out what problems ppl have and try to offer a solution?
YOU on the other hand dun have your own thread on fixing YLOD, you juz offer your services here and if that's the case, no one will be able to give any feedback based on whatever previous work you've done.
Even if ppl were to give you feedback, it will still be a public forum on YLOD and defects and not your own thread on YLOD fixing. it most probably be buried deep inside the thread, most ppl won't even take the time to find out.
I'm saying all this as a gesture of goodwill. it will be good for your business.
I'n not asking you to get out frm this thread la... aiyoyo...
Mind you the price Tim is charging is not exactly cheap, BUT if you want the ps3 to be done professionally, that's the way to go... if the heat gun method is more cost effective and works as well, then by golly go ahead. It's a PERSONAL PREFERENCE as well... it's the owner's ps3 and the owner's money so ultimately it's the owner's decision.
I'm selling stuff at the garage as well, of course i open up my own thread rather than lepaking in public forums
and offering the stuff i sell... if not, ppl won't realize if i'm the real deal or not... get my drift?
Some other ppl even offer 25% cheaper prices than me. I support them lagi because it's their lobang can get cheaper prices and i can't... wat to do? hopefully my service and after sales service can justify my higher prices.
If you have your own thread, you can slowly build up your customer base and garner feedback and in turn customer confidence.
If a business can't handle some competition, then mind as well don't start a business...
Business world is a dog eat dog world, LYN garage shops are competing everyday, u see anyone complaining?
Tim is selling stuff and providing technical stuff as well and he have his own thread in the garage as well...
That's what you should be doing if you have services or products to offer boy...

I've even state my reasons, and if you have your own set of principle, then it's fine too...
And "kid"... for your info, i'm not taking any sides, i'm juz seeing that you're not being flamed for anything and you seem to take a hard stance on the matter, juz to clear some stuff up... that's all.
Ppl visiting this forum most prolly have a problem with their ps3 one way or another, and they're seeking solutions.
If you're offering them? good, good for the general YLOD sufferers.

Could be the HDMI controller chip rosak liao.
Heard frm Tim he's trying to stock up on the spare part coz quite a number of ppl kena the problem.
