I;ve read on the tubes that if your PS3 has freezes or lockups, eject the disc first before attempting to restart/turn off the console (front panel or back switch). This will (dont know true or not) minimise the chance of spoiling the BD-ROM drive.

lens problem is quite common
normally i can be replaced @ 300rm a pop
if warranty from sony, can replace for free

luckily my launch unit is still healthy

how bout DLC??? i shared my DLC and now already full.
if i put my HDD to new PS3, will them work???
*
the only way is by contacting psn customer support to deactivate your broken machine from the psn id.

this is one of the reasons why i dont share my dlcs.

if you put the old hdd into new ps3, the new ps3 wont even recognise it and will prompt you to reformat using new ps3

@vorchiel the psn customer service can deactivate psn id? last time i did send an email to them but they said they cannot deactivate it using psn id. it must deactivate on the machine it self. they said ylod can be fix  rclxub.gif

it depends on the region

for asian, you have to contact the asian psn support, etc

yes can be fix, bring to their sony centre lo... they fix for u..
*
not all can be fixed. sometimes they just give a new one to replace the broken

QUOTE(HenryLow @ Feb 11 2009, 04:44 PM)
arr? my hdd cannot detect by new ps3??? gosh... doh.gif
then how???
*
send your unit to singapore
since your warranty is already over, you have to pay for the repair
if it can be repair, then no prob
if it cant, you have to call customer support to deactivate the console.
some lower-tiered personnel dont know about the deactivation.
demand to speak with their manager/etc.

that page is only for deactivation of psp only not ps3

all saves are lost forever if they cant repair the console

nope

activate means activate on that machine. same goes to deactivation

once activated 5 times, you cant even activate on the 6th machine

maybe you can ask the ppl who shared with you to deactivate on their machine

but those dlc associated with that id will stop working on that machine
