Pictures are nice. But I think composition can be improved. Especially the 3rd picture. smile.gif

Should try aperture priority. Low aperture if no tripod. But this kind of shooting, tripod surely come in handy!

ya...
i feel stupid being the only 1 wif DSLR without tripod that nite...
some even at least got monopod...

btw, cheapest Nikon DSLR sold in HK is D5000, no D60 or lower
n plenty tourists n locals using D3 or Canon 1D >.<
c ppl use cheapest Nikon model oso D80/D90(can easily identify wif the lcd screen on top)
none D40/40X/60/5000 users

Go nearer to your subject, wide open aperture. Make sure your camera is focusing on the near subject. The further the background relative to your subject, the more apparent the bokeh.

the rule for max bokeh is = max tele or zoom + max aperture.

So if your lens is tele or zoom ranged, twist it to the max and set the aperture to the biggest. On max zoom/tele, you gonna have to move back a lot if your subject is big (eg : a person, a car)

If it's between D40 and D60, I would suggest a D40kit + and extra lens or flash.
