How's your D90 DBaboon ? Hope you like it... I'm planning to go for that also .... but I will be keeping my D40 as a spare body.

I've got both the 35 and the 50 f1.8. To me the 35 f1.8 is more useful the 50mm is a bit too narrow for me.

Can add a 3rd party battery grip to balance... but will be heavy on your neck.

Try cleaning out the lens and the camera using a blower. Make sure you turn the body mount facing down when you blow. If it goes away that means that the lens or the sensor is dirty. But to me it doesn't look like dead pixels.
QUOTE(kevyeoh @ May 30 2009, 12:31 AM) guys...what could be the problem for this? look at my pics...i just notice that there is a dark blur line at each of my pics...at the bottom right corner.... my friend told me not possible sensor because if dead pixel..it won't be like this....i can see clear dark black spots instead.... but this one...he suspect is a hair ?????? |

Used to have a YXTM battery grip for D40 (same as D60) looks flimsy but when you mount it on... it is ok. I think the main problem is that bodies like D60/D40X/D40/D5000 are not designed to use a battery grip.
QUOTE(Kagaya @ May 30 2009, 05:52 PM) Anybody here uses a 3rd Party battery grip on a D60? I've been to digital mall and checked out the item and I find the plastic is really flimsy and not quite suited for the job to be mounted to the camera, relying solely on the tripod screwmount. Anyone know, besides Shashinki.com, to get cheap but authentic Lowepro gears, flashes and battery grip? And a crystal screen protector for the D60. |

There are a few samples a few pages back.... anyway focal length is only one of the factors. The diaphragm blades and the f-stop are other factors that affect the bokeh. My suggestion is that if you have the budget to go for the 50mm f1.4... you test out the Sigma one first then only test the Nikons then only decide which one you are comfortable with.

I'm guessing it is because of the Exposure Bias Setting. It should be at 0EV (-0.7 is 2/3 of a stop under expose). What lens are you using ?
Another thing you can do is add a bounce card to the flash if the ceiling is too high. QUOTE(kevyeoh @ May 31 2009, 01:42 PM) ok...from the file properties.... 18-200VR is out of the question.... it is expensive.. and not as sharp as the Tamron 17-50. Only thing that I didn't really like about it was that the built in motor is quite slow (as in slower than 18-135). So other than the 17-50 ... you don't have a Tele lens..or a Super wide ?
QUOTE(alpha_company @ May 31 2009, 05:47 PM) thought of getting the 18-200VR for wedding shots. but a lot of people recommend me to get the tamron 1750 f2.8. glad i did. for close up pics, f2.8 is fine, but for normal portrait wedding shots, the sharpest pic u can get with this lens is at f4-f5.6. but one thing about it though, comparing it against my friend's nikon 18-55 & tamron 70-300 and my previously owned nikon 55-200VR, you will notice that it weighs a lot...man is it heavy. |

Mine was a YXTM grip. Most of the brands are about the same. Sold it b'cos I didn't need it anymore and the vertical shutter button was not as useful as I thought. After selling this and kit lens went and got 35 f1.8 lens.

YXTM, Phottix, Hahnel and another brand "Battery Grip" are about the same.. look about the same... price about the same except Hahnel a bit higher b'cos with spare battery and remote. I've heard of Ownuser grips and seen pics but have not seen the real thing.

Tamron is about 1.8K last I saw. But I think you can consider the 18-135 or the 18-105VR. Both are very sharp lenses.

I'm guessing is that it is the meter. Meter is not 100% accurate. From the shadows I'm guessing that the background is brighter (from the girls' t-shirts) in these situations you should turn the flash on as a "fill" light. Anyway you can try using "P" instead of "Auto".

Which kind of lens are you looking for... and what lens do you have at the moment ? If cheap, sharp and with VR, I recommend the new 18-105VR (D90 kit lens).
