check your serial number..if your number is in the faulty batch.. GO AND GET IT FIXED now when u're still free rather than have it break down when u need it the most..

I gotta agree wif dat bro... worst-case scenario almost happened to me tongue.gif

btw, me facing dillema on next purchase... should I aim for a prime lens 1st, or a flash unit?
wonder if the SB-600 is sufficient blink.gif

definitely flash 1st
wit flash u can shoot in many conditions where any lenses oso wont help
SB-600 is sufficient d, but if u got the budget go for SB-900

of cos flash..

sb900 is DOUBLE the price of sb600...and do remember SB900 is biggg..might be unbalanced and/or could cause pain to your wrists if you're not used to it.

imo sb600 is more than powerful enough as i prefer using it in wedding jobs rather than sb900.

i prefer the versatility/weight and recycle time of sb600 than sb900. I tried both my friend's sb900 and sb600 before i decide on buying the sb600.

i have one sb600 but im thinking of getting another one to do CLS lighting.. 2 X SB600 = 1 SB900.. your choice..

i wouldnt go for a used sb800 because most if not all are out of warranty and flash wise i dont recommend getting 2nd hand.

lens wise, it's fine to get a 2nd hand lens..

definitely cant, cos all battery grip(3rd party only) for D40/D40X/D60 uses the external IR for shooting when using the grip
so u cant half press for focus
D5000 at 1st same situation, but new model for D5000 uses wire linked to the body, so can half press

thanks for the thoughts guys... my budget's not so high to afford a SB900... so I guess I'll aim for the SB600...
realised the lack of flash limited my ability to shoot during my company's night event... blush.gif
