For good bokeh, Nikkor 50mm f1.8 / f1.4 do a great job  thumbup.gif

At f1.8/f1.4, i think bokeh is effortless with lens of such spec but it's a prime 50mm... would be better if it got the same range as my kit lens 18~55mm and got f-stop of 2.8 and lower(which is bigger aperture).

Saw a Tamron with that spec but the price easily could help me get another D60, laugh.gif

Anyway, I am going to do some serious shoots this Thursday and Saturday...hope the camera brings out some wonderful results! icon_rolleyes.gif

I might want to get a prime lens. I am not very funded so I am considering 35mm F1.8G and 50 mm F1.8D, both below 1k. Which one will you recommend?

Surely 35mm. This lens can AF with ur D40. 50mm F1.8 cant AF
The IQ of the 35mm is pretty good

I've got both the 35 and the 50 f1.8. To me the 35 f1.8 is more useful the 50mm is a bit too narrow for me.
