Dear all, need advice on flash.
im gonna get a sb600 ( that the close i can get due to budget constrain) but the question is 1.shoudl i go for new ones or 2nd hand ones? 2.do they have a life span as in the bulb/or izzit lumen 3.how much would the bulb/lumen cost if i were to replace them? from what i survey, new ones is abt 800 and 2nd hand on 400 onwards. so the price difference really amaze me |

QUOTE(kimurastanley @ May 24 2009, 03:32 PM) hi bro, need some advice from u and all tammy 17-50 f2.8 user's. i have got 3 buddies using this lense. d 60 d 80 and d 90 coincidentally. all of them complaint that tht 1. at times the lense just does not respond as in the body does not detect the lense (e) 2. the motor speed is very slow i am in the midst of getting this lense but contemplating either tamron 17-50 or sigma 18-50. i am told that sigma will be a better choice as its motor is faster and also batter sharpness compared to tammy. please give your review. hoping to get feedback from both tammy and siggy user's thanking in advance. Mixo Added on May 25, 2009, 12:26 am QUOTE(Kagaya @ May 24 2009, 08:45 PM) Hi All, hello bro,I've just gotten myself my first DSLR this evening, a Nikon D60. I almost make a decision to invest on D5000 but after weighting in alot of factors, especially the price, I think I can forgo Movie Mode, 7 point AF, articulate LCD (which is not side hinge) and the D90 sensor. All that for RM1k less is definitely worth it. I'm sorta looking for some accessories but not too sure which is the best place to look for it in KL/Pudu. 3rd Party accessories also no problem. 1. Hand Straps (definitely 3rd Party) 2. Battery Grip (definitely 3rd Party) 3. LCD Protector (I guess only 3rd Party, don't seems to have what D90 have) 4. Flash (basic with variable angle will do, gonna use card board to diffuse the light or rice paper) Need to get those item cheap and I might be prowling in the Garage sale for it. Looking forward to get kimurastanley's gear: the Tamron lens and flashes. I know that without that lens, I can't do bokeh in a non Tele lens... Shed some light, fellow Nikonian! my sincere wishes to you. a good choice of slr to start in photography. given choice of d5k and d60 with the price difference you made a smart choice especially if you plan to take this as a passion and not just hobby. ps: just saw leica m8 and leica safar ltd edition . its just pure sweetness. but after looking at the price i had to think thrice b4 even touching it! in dilemma of getting 50mm f1.4 or 35mm f1.8.
i have not tried both but tried 50mm f1.8 quite a few times. i mostly shoot potraits. and from my pasy experience i think 35mm would be more versatile for me as in certain time ''taking 2 step back'' just wont do with 50mm. so here i stand humbly asking to be poisoned by more 35mm f1.8 shots. will get by weekend. so far ys quoted me at 800 for it and they have stock. i need to get either one of these lense and an sb600. and again here i humbly stand asking for advice on where to shop and a a price guide probably. i knw tht sb600 will cost exactly like 35mm but just hoping to a get a better deal if i take both item Added on June 4, 2009, 12:54 amoh ya guys may i humbly invite all the borther's and sister's here for some charity work.. QUOTE(kevyeoh @ Jun 5 2009, 09:49 AM) ahh..my bad...missed out the f1.4.... then it's double the price wor....hehe... me no budget lor..that's only focus my budget to buy 35mm now...kekeke... same situation here. ahaha..i was just worried the bokehness is not as good as 50mm f1.4 but after seeing the pics, i find it livin up to the nikkor expectation, and it fulfils my expectation too. so without further a due, im snaking out in a while for survey, ( still wanna test shot and see the difference between both) then i will get the one that i like, ( and also the 400 price diff will be kept in mind) haha |

QUOTE(windwong @ Jun 5 2009, 11:25 PM) reply mixologist bro my suggestion is to ge from uyer in lelong.sorry brother, Im from Kuching, where is ys and where is J one, got stock or not? Kuching is selling RM899....siao~ Do u have their contact no? thanks.... i got it from him too, bt i went straight to his shop. its safer. i'll give u his trader name shortly. i u want.........the numb fr ys and jone im nt sure la bro. btw found j one ownr was very rude to me. so i did not buy from him. i paid 800 instead of 790.bcoz i boght in another place dont mind paying extra to ppl if they know how to treat u. got myself sb600 and 35mm f1.8. if just buy both j one cheaper but plus together with the acc definitely the other place cheaper, save about 60bucks. |

project-o,alpha_company thankd for ur adv.
will take it into consideration when getting the lense later. for now, more study o it and survey mania starts! kent goh. my advice, d60 with 35mm f1.8. u may need to spend up to 2.7 k but its worth it or u get 2nd hand body and get the 35mm |
