Now that is not true =) ... RTM HD was out a year ago lol....under trial transmission for a short while during Olympics 2008 Beijing but hey it was broadcasted for free.

but what they show out??what they had did??
most of the imported chanel with reslution 544*576
and astro own chanel with 720*576
but both also with marco block
why???
they will decrease the bitrate to save the bandwith
and dun 4get the rubbish code
is will be same thing in HDTV
they will giv you 1280*720 or 1920*1080
but with low bitrate to save their BW
and u will see HD CODE WITH 16:9 DISPLAY

Other cable network like in oversea doesn't show any code on screen between SD and HD broadcast.

So why can't Astro?

Well said Astro is a suck company it can do wonders and make us fools with no choice. Look at the Asian versions of its channels all sucks ! Look at Disney now showing Upah Dan Ipin ! My god ! Never thought Disney would stoop this low ! Sad to say we have no choice take it or leave it ! It has full backing of the MMC ! Worst come to worst they wld say this is part of satelite broadcasting .They can just remove BBCE and give u Bio that talk ... channel, so you want take dont want pay RM10 downgrade your package ! Now take note that Astro has stopped giving you automated replies to your complaints.

I know AStro suck nowdays, but don't say that our animation like Upin dan Ipin not good.
Many children including adults like to see this program ( currently show on TV9 ) maybe some were not.
We can be proud that Malaysia also can produce our own 3D animation like the movie last year Geng Pengembaraan Bermula (Geng).

I agree.... Upin and Ipin is prob one of the betta stuff that has come out from Malaysia in recent years..... I think Disney made a good choice with it and i would love to see this show in HD

So because they showed Upin & Ipin, Disney became terrible?

Why Disney show constant repeats of Mr.Bean shows and you don't say anything about it?

astro is a gimmick service in malaysia...
i dont expect too much for their HD service...
since their rubbish code still can be seen in HD channels...
and belongs to 1080i, the rubbish code can c more clearly...
wtf code is this? their reply mention that the code is for security function...
then i ask how is it work n y don't the other countries pay vision have these rubbish code....they no reply at all...

Mr Bean???? Have you watched that trash they call High School Musical, the 1st one was bad enough but to make 3 movies is just flabbergasting

I agree with you . Disney has lost its glory. We dont see Mickey classics we dont see disney classics anymore.We see Mr bean most of the time. Upah should have been in Playhouse Disney! Disney is an example to show what happens when you localise a channel. It was suppose to be a Teens English channel of class ! After 12 years I just decided to cut off Disney for good today cos I dont want to see Kluang Man and Usop Santarium making their debuts in Disney in the coming future.

I don't think that's necessarily an ASTRO decision.

Coming from a background working with these creative companies - you'd be surprised how highly our animation content is regarded abroad.

Al Jazeera Children's Channel, Jetix, Disney - they buy content which they think will sell.

So even if you don't like Upin Ipin, or Mustang Mama, or any of the other contents (and I also agree Disney should still feature their classics) doesn't mean it's a downgrade in quality.

In fact, there's an article about Astro going HD in StarInTech today.Its becoming more oficial as we speak

dun blaim to much la...take it or leave it la...we blaim a bit about it is so so la...when we back home, we on the tv, we still watch it...their company giving their service, not the government company, then take it or leave it...

The rubbish code...i thought only shown on astro decoders? Infact if you see it clearly, it is the overlay done by astro decoders. If digital PVR's were to be provided, it records digitally...that is just saving the video/audio content ... not resampling the whole audio/video content and rerecord it (which includes those rubbish code). In short, if you record it using their digital PVR, I have a feeling you won't get those rubbish code stick on it...

From what I understand this code is used to detect unauthorised Astro signals from other decoders. The code comes every 30 minutes like a keygen and if you use other boxes to recieve Astro your signal wld be interupted.Correct me if i am wrong this is what I was informed.

The post a few page back said the code is use for astro personnel to check whether the package subscribed by restaurant (or any place provide viewing for public) is special package or just normal home package.

If to detect other boxes, no need to show to end user la..

I thought when Astro is for commercial like restaurant or hotel, there will be a small box on the left of the screen.
