2. What is Astro B.yond?
Astro B.yond is the future of entertainment. It is a brand new offering in television broadcast
which offers the first ever High-Definition broadcast in Malaysia. For a start, five exclusive high
definition channels will be introduced at the time of launch, with more to come in the future.
With Astro B.yond, employees will be able to enjoy true high definition details such as with
superior resolution, sound and clarity. Astro B.yond will have future interactive features like
Personal Video Recording (PVR), new Electronic Programming Guide (EPG) and internet
connectivity.

Now that is not true =) ... RTM HD was out a year ago lol....under trial transmission for a short while during Olympics 2008 Beijing but hey it was broadcasted for free.

The rubbish code...i thought only shown on astro decoders? Infact if you see it clearly, it is the overlay done by astro decoders. If digital PVR's were to be provided, it records digitally...that is just saving the video/audio content ... not resampling the whole audio/video content and rerecord it (which includes those rubbish code). In short, if you record it using their digital PVR, I have a feeling you won't get those rubbish code stick on it...

Astro won't have time to upscale their SD channels la...it would result to more blurness and waste even more bandwidth to support such large resolutions. If people found their SD channels to be slightly improved, my best bet is that they have reduce compression on it, or allow a higher bitrate to the SD feed, OR a slight possibility is that maybe they reencode the SD channels to H264, where if they maintain the same bitrate now used on mpeg-2, it would definitely improve the picture quality
