hmmm..  interesting, always wanted to know about that.

whats the mechanics behind it?  couldnt it 'verify' fake cards 'internally'?  why the need to 'display' those codes?
*
the code must be see by public
the concept is like this
they now divide to 2 package
one is public another is home
for public..like bank, mamak, restoran...their price is higher..
astro will have "worker" go check it
and copy down the code and verify see izit subsribe public package or home package
if use home package,then they direct cut it and ask them use public package
just that
conclusion: LAME and RUBBISH system[COLOR=red]

u all dun so happy first
dun 4got astro is a suck company
even now the decoder can do for 720*576 SD quality
but what they show out??what they had did??
most of the imported chanel with reslution 544*576
and astro own chanel with 720*576
but both also with marco block
why???
they will decrease the bitrate to save the bandwith
and dun 4get the rubbish code
is will be same thing in HDTV
they will giv you 1280*720 or 1920*1080
but with low bitrate to save their BW
and u will see HD CODE WITH 16:9 DISPLAY
yeah

The rubbish code...i thought only shown on astro decoders? Infact if you see it clearly, it is the overlay done by astro decoders. If digital PVR's were to be provided, it records digitally...that is just saving the video/audio content ...  not resampling the whole audio/video content and rerecord it (which includes those rubbish code). In short, if you record it using their digital PVR, I have a feeling you won't get those rubbish code stick on it...

ya
astromax
record
dun have code

sorry if you find the code reduces your viewing experience, but we will still have to put it there as part of the security measure. Thanks for understanding!

We refer to your email dated 11 December 2009.

Please be informed that not all programmes are available or produced in
high definition broadcasts at the moment. High definition is still a
relatively new and expensive system. Just like the transition from black
and white television broadcast to colour television broadcast, it will
take a little while more before we get to a stage where all channels are
in high definition. Nevertheless, the picture and sound quality of the
existing SD channels will be enhanced due to better aspect ratio
handling and a direct HDMI connection with the television.

We wish to inform you that currently the Astro HD channels are as listed
below:

* Astro SuperSport HD
* ESPN HD
* National Geographic Channel HD
* History HD
* HBO HD

Further to the above, please be advised that more channels will be added
from time to time and for more information on our HD service, kindly
visit our website at www.astro.com.my.

Should you have further enquiries in any other aspects, kindly contact
our Call Centre at 1300-82-3838 which is operational from 8.00 am to
12.00 midnight daily or email us at wecare@astro.com.my.

We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you.

Yours sincerely,
