QUOTE(MyDevil @ Dec 8 2009, 08:12 PM)
I thought when Astro is for commercial like restaurant or hotel, there will be a small box on the left of the screen.
I concur. The astro service that I saw at a hotel gym had such boxes.when is ASTRO going digital (HD) ?, beyond 720p

QUOTE(pirateguy @ Dec 8 2009, 09:23 PM) somean they no code Added on December 8, 2009, 9:07 pm QUOTE(kaspersky-fan @ Dec 8 2009, 03:52 PM) The rubbish code...i thought only shown on astro decoders? Infact if you see it clearly, it is the overlay done by astro decoders. If digital PVR's were to be provided, it records digitally...that is just saving the video/audio content ... not resampling the whole audio/video content and rerecord it (which includes those rubbish code). In short, if you record it using their digital PVR, I have a feeling you won't get those rubbish code stick on it... yaastromax record dun have code This post has been edited by sg999: Dec 8 2009, 09:07 PM |

Well, better a choice to buy hd than a choice not to buy at all... It's obvious it's a monopoly, but at least we have options to buy hd. If you can't afford it, it's just unfortunate... But on a marketing point of view, isn't hd targeted for middle and high income class? Cuz these people are most likely the people with hdtvs anyways...
Hopefully based on economies of scale, the price will slide down over a period of time... |

QUOTE(SiriuslyCold @ Dec 10 2009, 04:42 PM) transmission will be 16:9, but the content depends on the original movie, no? sometimes 1.85:1, 2.39:1 Yup....but the thing i'm wondering is that the original video will be upscaled to 1080i?Because there are a lot of lousy quality movies in HBO like the old movies |

QUOTE(ycs @ Dec 10 2009, 04:52 PM) it's somewhere in the previous pages in this thread. Add $20 for 5 channels, apparently. Of course you can only see the HD channels that are part of your existing packages... so if the 5 channels are not part of your existing package, you have to subscribe to that package. or at least I think that's how it's going to work. QUOTE(kobe24bryant @ Dec 10 2009, 04:54 PM) I mean, what is the benefit of having WWE in HD? |

Wondering if astro charged over RM200/month for full package with some HD channels, do you think it is worth it?
