not to say not defined properly... it's not defined as per ur requirement... how would the developer know who will put grille who will not, right?
anyway, thefts need to break both grille and door/window b4 getting in... any reason u want to fix it at the grille instead?
*
doors & windows IOI give magnetic sensor so u hv to open to the window or door to trigger it..
what if the robber break the glass? ( no alarm trigger as he didn't move the magnetic sensor )

so as for me i exchange all the magnetic sensor to vibration sensor ( pay extra Rm550 ) install
on my grille (incase robber cut my grille it wl trigger sensor lor.. icon_question.gif ) and put extra motion
detactor at the living & kitchen area and hope for the best that it need not proved it worth.. sad.gif

I'm not picking on you but I have yet to see any house that does not install any type of grille so far.

if you refer to this post http://puchongputeri11.blogspot.com/2009/0...on-robbery.html

then you`ll understand why grille is important to have vibration sensors and the alarm installer had also actually placed the points to connect these vibration sensors as default.

since IOI provide the smart home alarm why cant it be a comprehensive alarm setup? again this is a half baked solution provided to the owners

I`m sure there will be replies after this stating its free and we should not complain but these little things actually can make the owner happy and be a returning customer. take note that its not 100k or 200k houses that was purchased here. It doesn't cost much for the additional sensors. I was charge less than RM200 to get it done by the alarm installer assigned by IOI.

all these extras can be extended from alarm system installed by developer?
woww... so u hv all sensors duplicated both window and grille?

how much it cost for you to have all the extra sensor for grille?

like you said at least provide a reasonable alarm system since it was promoted as "smart home alarm"
in fact the reason why it was called smart home alarm is because the brand is smart!

It is usual that any particular buyer will try to get a best deal. Thanks for sharing as we know how to upgrade it now.

But just wonder if one's decision to buy the said house will be affected if the house is not even equiped with any alarm system.

if you`re referring to Nadia onwards, all the houses come with alarm and auto gate by default

for olivia, ensure the back iron door is fixed with a latch or stopper to ensure that it dont trigger the alarm unnecessary as the door can move easily if there is wind. again small details that IOI never bother to take note

saw a Sunway group advertisement recently...that they are taking steps to ensure that Bdr Sunway
become Safe City... and i read in the Alam Sutera Bkt Jalil (I&P project, next to BK9)
project brochure..they already earmarked a site for a police station.... and Sime Darby
also built a big police station for Ara Damansara project....

with the current Polis operations to beef up security in bdr puteri puchong, I think IOI the
developer of Bdr Puteri Puchong should contribute to make this mixed township
a SAFE TOWNSHIP...
1) build police beat base (currently police set-up 2 temporary pondok...)
2) Sponsor a land for a BIGGER police station
3) Install CCTV at strategic locations
4) built G&G community
5) any other suggestions ?

most of the time you either fix additional beams to make sure the gap between the beam is small so that the thief cant go through or you fix motion sensor at the roof area and magnetic sensor at each ceiling man hole in the house

regarding the motion sensor you must ensure that the angle is above 1 feet from the ground to avoid rodent or pest triggering it

that is why I dont agree with the misinterpretation of gated and guarded by IOI

only puteri 8 qualifies as a real gated and guarded. Another good example is Lake Edge by YTL. Thats a true gated and guarded place

a full fledged gated and guarded is what gkl83 mentioned earlier and not these half baked solutions
*
Even Puteri 8 got chicken wire fence especially the part that is facing the Petronas Station, its better than nothing at all. laugh.gif

Motion sensor at the roof area is a big no no due to the frequent change of temperature(there is strong current of air movement up there, hence temperature going up and down up fast depending on outside temperature) becos the motion detector is trigger by heat n movement or either one. I happen to try that on my other house, usually will get false alarm especially during mid-night time or afternoon time when there is change of weather from dry to raining time, the sudden change of temperature will trigger the motion sensor to mistaken this as someone is inside the roof.

To me the best is still like what u said makesure the beams between the gap of those beam is less than 2 inchs, use extra strong wood beam, and those ceiling man hole magnectic sensor are armed 24/7,even if u disarm the alarm system of the other part of the house.

For those house with long strecth of glass sliding doors, the best is dismantle them and install them with fixed window, as the sliding doors is one of the most easy and common ways among thiefs to break-in house.

there is another thing to take note abt... the alarm system IOI give hv a default siren period of only 2 minutes.. ( with such short period even ur immediate neighbour wl not react, how to get the guard to come & check out yr hse?)
so make sure u get them to set a longer, annoying & so call wake the whole neighbourhood siren on urs.. brows.gif

lets put it this way, the alarm and autogate provided by IOI is sub-par or the best I would say is just able to function as it is.

no where it can be classified as "quality" items

the 2-min alarm... you mean only setting or need to pay extra to upgrade in order to prolong the alarms?

gosh...set such long ringing alarm ?? do u seriously think it will deter the actual breaking in process ?

ppl will notice...only after long ringing alarm....but dat will actually be sometime for the thieves to go off already

practically, having big guard dogs should do the job, otherwise, hire GURKHA as guards instead of the current indians

I doubt that area you referring to is Puteri 8 as its very silly of Puteri 8 RA to build brick walls around the perimeter and leave some parts with chicken wire fencing.
