ok, so now i want to jb my i3gs ver3.0.1 using redsnow..
follow the instruction in iclarify, downloaded redsnow 0.8 and iphone2_1_3.0.1_7A400_restore.zip
but the fw i've downloaded and unzipped does not contain any ipsw file
anyone can clarify this? i'm stucked here

yes this is the file i downloaded, but somehow it doesn't contain the ipsw files when i unzip it

Not sure. Corrupted zip? FYI, you have to download version 3.0 firmware. redsn0w does not recognize 3.0.1 firmware.

as stated above, redsn0w does not recognize firmware 3.0.1. Have to use firmware 3.0 though.

if using for jb, need to download i3gs 3.0fw. the file is arround 270mb,only 1 file no contain any zip.

but i saw the sticky saying that redsnow 0.8 works with 3.0.1?

Finally, I managed to jailbreak my iPhone in one attempt.

You need to point IPSW 3.0 instead of 3.0.1 in redsn0w. If I remember it correctly, you just need to rename the .zip to .ipsw if you're downloaded in zip format.

1) On the last step, do i "Restore from backup" OR "Setup as new iPhone" on iTunes.?

2) I have eWallet apps where i store some important password protected data.
Can i still get those back once i sync or do i have to re-enter again?

hi guys,

I manage to jailbreak my iphone 2g using pwnagetool. Can use with celcom with a little bit problem with 3g edge. Every time i open my phone book, it deduct rm0.70 from my credit. Called celcom, they said I accidentally use the 3g services.

Also, cannot use with u mobile sim card. it says , no service . any ideas ?

You're on an iphone 2G right?

U Mobile only uses the 3G spectrum to operate. They won't work on 2G Phones!

phew.. im using iphone 3g.. then i upgrade to 3.1 .. jailbreak then unlock with ultrasnow.. no service.. downgrade to 3.0.. unlock with ultrasnow.. still same.. no service and failed to load network list.. my modm firmware is 05.11.07 can someone help?

if for network, yes 3G on 3.1..if phone, 3GS unlock from maxis..deng,i want to use 3rd party aps..

Sounds like you didn't do your homework.

If you're running your iphone 3G on a network using ultrasn0w, you SHOULDNT have upgraded to 3.1.

This thread (and others on the net) all have mentioned this. Now you'll have to wait to see if the dev-team finds a way to crack 3.1.
