bro, once i jailbreak it then jz simply send the files using cydia? this is to make sure i will be able to jailbreak my phone at the future?

how do we ensure saurik's server successfully recorded our ECID besides relying on the message shown (whenever we run cydia app)? i read elsewhere a lot ppl complained it wasn't recorded as oppose to what the message says.

I have a question.
If my iphone 3g is Locked Set, and the wifi is spoilt (meaning wifi cannot be used on the phone). So how do i Unlock the phone? After jailbreaking process, in order to unlock the phone i have to go online right? and since it cant detect sim card, the only way to go online is trough wifi ( which is not possible since the wifi is spoilt). then how do i unlock the phone?

may i know wut vers of quickpwn dat support FW 3.1??

pls see front place temporary still don't have any JB for the version FW 3.1 yet.. u have to wait for them to create it

Just receive my Maxis Iphone 3GS on 3.0.1, ready for JB but was lucky that i came to this thread to double confirm on the process.

from Page 1 and all useful info provided by kind forumers, can i summarized as follows for my unlocked Maxis Iphone 3GS JB:-

1. since the OS is 3.0.1, i dun hv to restore nor update the firmware vide Itunes verion 8 and above , just use Redsn0w 0.8 to JB, choose IPSW 3.0 instead of 3.01.

2. after JB, go direct to Cydia, run Cydia to enable the store of ECID in order to "secure" any future restore/downgrading and JB process since Itunes will only update firmware to 3.1 which currently cant be JB.

Please correct me if i am wrong, just putting what i understand into simple language

Ok....Got it after upgrading sources for Cydia, just click "make my life easier", and message on my cydia now- "this device has a pending TSS request"

But the site says it doesn't work for 3.1 3GS. So if a 3GS is using fw3.1, they're pretty much out of luck, right?

in trouble now.... was using my JB 3gS fine until Cydia cant run and with a message- Error: Datebase encoutnered a section with no package header....

did some research online that it can be fixed by SSH, problem is how to i get SSH when i didnt install one prior to the prob....

to my understanding....
if u have 3.1 ECID on file...it will only be useful when apple release 3.2 (or higher) and discontinues signing 3.1. so u can downgrade from 3.2 (or higher) to 3.1
if u previously have 3.0 ECID on file...u can downgrade from to 3.1 (or higher) to 3.0...

oh.. mean just back up before that JB? or after JB?

This is my Iphone now.

- Iphone 3G 16G (Singtel Officially Unlocked)
- Firmware: 2.2.1 (5H11)
- Modem Firmware: 02.30.03
- Mac OS user

Want to upgrade to 3.x firmware and then JB.
Which one do i go for. 3.0 or 3.01 or 3.1?? or do i have to do it step by step, meaning 3.0 1st then 3.01 and so forth?

1st time attempting to JB. Previously bought already JB.

u can straight away upgrade to 3.1 from 2.2.1.

JB on 3.1 is relatively new.. so potential for bugs??
Is it safer to go for 3.01 JB for now or 3.1 JB is stable now??
