Hi all,

This is my Iphone now.

- Iphone 3G 16G (Singtel Officially Unlocked)
- Firmware: 2.2.1 (5H11)
- Modem Firmware: 02.30.03
- Mac OS user

Want to upgrade to 3.x firmware and then JB.
Which one do i go for. 3.0 or 3.01 or 3.1?? or do i have to do it step by step, meaning 3.0 1st then 3.01 and so forth?

1st time attempting to JB. Previously bought already JB.

u can straight away upgrade to 3.1 from 2.2.1.

JB on 3.1 is relatively new.. so potential for bugs??
Is it safer to go for 3.01 JB for now or 3.1 JB is stable now??

Thanks

Hey guys
i have 2 questions on JB to FW3.1 with my iphone3G

1) In the tutorial, step#6 it says "Deselect Activate if you have an iPhone legitimately activated on an official carrier"

My iphone3G is Singtel officially unlocked unit bought from LYN. But NOT using Singtel as carrier of course. So do i Select or Deselect this option?

2) In the last step, which option is better, "Restore from backup" OR "Setup as new iPhone". I read in page 1 that..better setup as new. Why?

"Unusual battery depletion is almost always caused by people choosing to “Restore from backup” instead of “Setup as new iPhone” when iTunes asks you. This isn’t caused by either the jailbreak or the unlock, but it’s a common 3.0 snafu. The fix is to just re-run the official 3.0 restore and choose “Setup as new” this time. Your music and apps and all that will still be synced, but you’ll get rid of any conflicting wifi, bluetooth, or carrier settings"

Thanks in advance..

Will try to JB to 3.1 on my iphone 3G tonight..
Before that,

1) On the last step, do i "Restore from backup" OR "Setup as new iPhone" on iTunes.?

2) I have eWallet apps where i store some important password protected data.
Can i still get those back once i sync or do i have to re-enter again?
