happen to me quite some time. i think because i turn on/off 3g function. the last time i use, also didnt follow. so i leave for a while, then everything become normal again.

at last, jb on 3.1.. but not for windoze yet.. fw 3.1 does not hv significant update on battery life is it?

i'm using custom .ipsw from other guy. my iphone 3g use fw 3.1 jb. work great. i dun know what they did, but i think they convert it from mac so we, windows user able to update.

i'm also using custom firmware but its not from david. it works great. i provided the link via my blog. currently my iphone 3g is on 3.1 jailbreak. no problem encounter so far.

Root partition size. 1gb, u can install many app from cydia/icy compare to 768mb. mine is 16gb, so i just use the 1gb. still got many space left.

For app from apple store, I don't think so because itunes will auto backup, and resynch after jb. as per cydia, install aptbackup after jb.

i hv face this before. u download a wrong custom fw.. either activated or unactivated version.

for me,yes. i need to on both 3g and edge if i want to use internet. if i turn 3g on n edge off,not gonna work. i dun know bout others.

between using blackra1n and custom fw, what is recommended? use blackra1n to jb n now after svrl hour of usage, my iphone barely detect wifi

tools for jb isnt it? after u download 3.1.2, use blackra1n to jb ur iphone. for blackra1n, mk sure ur iphone is unlock set before attempting. u may read in 1st post for further explaination. else, if u want, google custom firmware.

Added on October 24, 2009, 11:17 pmi also recently update last nyte from 3.1 to 3.1.2. what i do was, press home n power screen at the same time when blackra1n get stuck. the bad news, it still didn't work. after that, i just try keep repeating do the jb process, if im not mistaken, after 4 times, it works. lol.

what i mean by stuck is, i didnt get into recovery mode and there is no geohot pic shown compare to successful jb. after keep repeating da same step, succeed.

maybe u wanna try blackra1n rc2 as mention previous post.

geohot claim the blackra1n was 30s jb tool. n i think,30s only applicable to 3.1. not 3.1.2.am i correct? i can jb my iphone 3g 3.1 less than 30s. but not with 3.1.2.

r u sure u using blacrain rc2? see the title bar. as several claim, it work flawlessly.

what damage u talk bout? i dun c jb can do any harm provide u not install any malicious app lah.

blrckra1n will jailbeak only, not unlocked.

3.1.2 hv several bug fix n yes it stable. otherwise, apple will not release a new fw.

if u r windows user, use blackra1n. if mac, then use pwnage tool.
