Petr Cech has been low i confidence a this site proves it.

Ex-Arsenal Star Parlour Urges Wenger To Target Chelsea Keeper Cech

http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009...sea-keeper-cech

After a couple of suspect performances for Chelsea in their last two games, when he conceded seven goals and looked uncharacteristically nervous, goalkeeper Petr Cech is being identified as a potential weak link in the Blues' line-up.

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour, whose old team take on Chelsea in a Wembley FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, certainly feels that Cech's shaky form and possible lack of confidence is something the Gunners should seek to exploit.

Parlour, who famously scored a sensational goal against Cech's predecessor Carlo Cudicini in the 2002 FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium, has urged his former boss Arsene Wenger to target the shaky Blues shot-stopper with plenty of teasing crosses.

The 36-year-old, a Cup winner three times in his Arsenal playing days, told The Sun, “If I was Arsene I’d be telling Theo Walcott to charge down that wing and ping in as many crosses as he can.

“Stick Emmanuel Adebayor in the box against Cech and something could give."

Parlour addeed, “On Tuesday [in the 4-4 Champions League draw against Liverpool], Cech wasn’t just wobbly for the first goal. Towards the end of the first half a cross came in, he flapped at it and the ball hit somebody on the back - it could have gone anywhere.

“Cech is nowhere near as commanding as he was last season. His confidence is shot to pieces. I saw mistakes creeping in against Bolton last weekend.”

And regarding the free-kick that Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio scored against him, with Cech caught well out of position on his line, Parlour added, "Where he was standing was ridiculous. Even I wouldn’t have stood there and I’m not a 'keeper.

“Maybe the head injury Cech got a year or so ago is to blame. But he isn’t as commanding as he once was, he is not as brave.

“Perhaps the problem is lack of competition. Carlo Cudicini has gone and who challenges Cech now?”

Give your opinions about our once unstoppable keeper?

i miss stoch the most sad.gif but i think the reason for quaresma's omission has a lot to do with his inability to retain possession. gets knocked off the ball a bit too easily. crosses are world class when he's on form, but he needs better upper body strength to survive in the epl. that's why kalou gets the nod.

oh hell yeahhh essien's diving header! his reflexes were unbelievable..even in slow-mo it looked like the ball was really thundering into goal.
after he cleared it..not an ounce of emotion on his face. typical bison. laugh.gif

That's THE TRAIN for you. biggrin.gif Hope he will be able to 'derail' Cesc Fabregas tonight. Anyhow, he certainly makes the header looks so simple but in real truth, it takes a lot of training and an eye for accuracy. I think throwing your body in front of the shot would be much easier and less risky. laugh.gif

between him and gerrard, i have to admit its probably harder to derail the latter. but that's no swipe at his ability at all. been on fire lately.
the train driving bison should be up for it. laugh.gif yeahh he tried to head it away with precision..it looked so bloody difficult to time.
which reminds me...remember the dude who did the breakdance last season when alex scored from a freekick? he was in the wall..suddenly decided he's feeling funky. haha. it was west ham i think..or villa. espn couldn't stop showing the replays biggrin.gif

I can show you more "LOL" reaction from Jose Mourinho biggrin.gif

Btw, out of topic, FC Porto's assistant coach, the one who lead them against Manchester United looks like Mourinho, and he acts like Mourinho too, especially when he is enraged by the referee's decision.

Its impossible to wear them out in the midfield cause its pack with good midfielders of both teams. The best we can do now is to score through longballs, and score through possession as well as counter attacks.

Come on chelsea, second half magic here we go!

Its really sad to see this happening. But most of you chelsea fans seemed to be here swarming posts after posts just after a win or a game. Where is the build up guys?

Come join us the regulars building up hype for the next game regardless facing a weaker or a strong team.

Sad to see alot of new faces, or you guys are rare here, but please join us cause i seemed to be one of the few who posts while watching, not to question your loyalty to the club or anything. It has nothing to do with it to be honest.

I think Walcott has always been the main threat, his runs are always penetrating. There was a time where we needed JT and Cole to stop him. The rest already kau tim..

Yet, I dont know why they dont play the ball to him(Walcott)

Its really sad to see this happening. But most of you chelsea fans seemed to be here swarming posts after posts just after a win or a game. Where is the build up guys?

Come join us the regulars building up hype for the next game regardless facing a weaker or a strong team.

Sad to see alot of new faces, or you guys are rare here, but please join us cause i seemed to be one of the few who posts while watching, not to question your loyalty to the club or anything. It has nothing to do with it to be honest.

I wish I could multitask but my tv's outside the hall and the computer's inside my room. I'd like to have discussions on the forum while watching though.

Not trying to be defensive but, really, its the truth smile.gif

and our attacking is awsome today...should score more...

You're so right. Lampard being the engine of the midfield. I guess now Chelsea knows why he's worth 120k a week. Who else scores 20 over goals and 20 over assists in one season? Legend.

At the end of the day, it was once again a familiar face we all knew 2006/07 season ago in the League Cup final, gunning them down. I could still well remember the commentator's response

Lampard wins a lot of tackles today.. and 2 great assists. Really can see the desire to win the ball in the team.

He mentioned he is hoping "Kayu Balak" ( M. Ballack) to get red carded.

he's irreplaceable ok!

now this is why Hiddink kept Alex to play full game... he really sees potential in Alex... n furthermore, Carvalho can rest gao gao.

They've always made comparisons of Alex's style to JT's. and Ivanovic's to Riccy's In fact, I think it's quite true cos Alex seems to put his body on the line ( flying headers, diving tackles and etc). Riccy and Ivanovic are more cautious in their passing and calm. I think they should try and keep Alex despite his early season public claim for wanting to leave Chelsea..

Based on our recent encounters, the team who scored first will lose the tie. I guess the gaffer and his boys had this in mind.

Lampard was the man of the match. 2 beautiful assists.
I bet he will grab the Chelsea Player of the Year.
Even though we start very slowly during the game, we managed to score a goal.
Thanks to superb individual performance by Malouda.
Alex also need to be praised for throwing his body on the line.
Lastly, what else can I say about Drogba. For me, he is the best striker in the world.
I love the way he bullied Silvestre, Eboue & Toure. They just can't handle him!

the way i see it, it would be better for both our teams if liverpool beats arsenal coz then we would go top and thus intensifying the pressure for united to win the next game which in turn might cause them to lose points. unless pf course you are talking bout pipping us to the 2nd place.. but i firmly believe chelsea is still in the tittle race. find it funny why everyone is seeing it as if only liverpool have he chance to pip united

cech - could have saved the first goal if it wasnt a deflection from ashley, overall did okay. went out to fight for the ball on arsenal's last corner.
ivanovic - as usual, better on the defense than the offence, there was a great back cross into the box from the right.
alex - superb defense from the brazilian, winning headers, held adebayor and a great block from arshvin's strike
terry - the bionic man! injured and still fighting. did lots of SUPERB tackles. all of them rightly timed and we gained back possession.
ashley - worked hard to keep walcott's threat.
essien - not at his best today i must say. could do better.
ballack - smart play, getting us the free kicks we needed at injury time smile.gif, overall average performance.
anelka - i dont really wanna blame him for the marking of gibbs. overall okay performance and hard work from the frenchman, but i wouldnt say he's at his best.
lampard - hmm, good and bad! imho la. lost a few possession but also stole a few. but great assist that helped us come back to wembley for the second time!
malouda - total menace on the left flank, defended well, attacked well, scored the equalizer, deserves praise. HAIL MALOUDA! looks like he is not going anywhere next season tongue.gif
DROGBA - my man of the match. mainly because he scored the winning goal for us. the most important goal of the game. TOP CLASS striker. held of Sylvester, great control and got pass fabianski, FINISHED the job! madfag's MOTM!

overall - sloppy and no possession at first, picked up the game later.

finally, after reading mostly all of the keepcoming posts...and wait it to ended..hehe...

congratz guys!!!for going into the final!!! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
nice win after all...and its certainly a revenge after the defeat at the bridge last match against them...
after follorwing it online (gamecast) in the 1st half, then i opt to go watch it....
pretty obvious we control that game....particularly midfield...
drog and malouda really own their defense....though anelka look a bit quite...
while in mid....nothing they can do, including that fabregas...
while our fullback look a bit shaky, look iva...also ashley, really need to work hard to contain with speedy walcott..
even sometimes need to double up with malouda...huhu.
all in all, they play crap...thanks to wenger... biggrin.gif

about the goal conceded, iianm, its deflected, right?so its not anyone fault to blame to.. but did i see cech a bit off position that time, before the goal?

again, nice win, but yelah, even if we win, its still good to get clean sheet right...or to be more precise, not trailing....
afraid it will backfired one day...

and about the ashley cole play, remember, walcott is just a warm-up...
the real test was against messi, the current best player in the world. sweat.gif ..owh, almost forgot...he wont play... sweat.gif sweat.gif
so whos our lb then in that match will be? carvalho?
and why did alex start ahead of carvalho?did RC injured, or need alex for freekick?
anyone knows? hmm.gif

Well, Ivanovic is a right footer and he has played all positions at the back four so far in his career. Given Messi's tendency to drift to the center, Iva is well suited for the job to suppress him. The only weakness would be Iva's lack of experience at left back as he has only played at this position once during his time for Lokomotiv Moscow. As for Belletti he has not even played at that position before. He is a right back and an occasional defensive midfielder.

So if Boss still can't make it in time for the 1st leg, Iva will switch to the left. Belletti/Essien will most probably cover at right back. Can't see Mancienne being picked as this is Barca we're talking about.

no no, ivanovic lack of acceleration and agility, he will not be able to handle barcelona speed. to stop barcelona we need some one with speed like belletti. Yesterday match you can see that he is some time out run by RVP.

rclxms.gif good review bro.

But i have some concern yesterday on cech's form. the shot by walcot could be easily stop by him 3 years ago. hmm.gif F@#$ Hunt for this.
But maybe of the goal, A.cole escape with a handball and even a red card maybe.

essien too sloppy, many miss pass although he can win possesion but he keep giving it away when counter.

and lampard also not at his best, not many great pass.

Malouda have been transform since Hiddink incharge thumbup.gif

Balletti can't handle Henry and Iniesta. He will make silly challenge and give away many free kicks. You might use Balletti but not at Camp Nou because of the pitch size.

Arsène Wenger: I could've had Drogba for £100k!

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has revealed that he once passed up the chance to buy Didier Drogba – for just £100,000.

Drogba cost Chelsea some £24 million when they signed him from Olympique Marseille, but seven years ago when the then 24-year-old Drogba was still finding his feet with Le Mans in the French Second Division, he could have joined the Gunners for a knock-down bargain fee.

"We watched Drogba very carefully when he was at Le Mans and his value was just £100,000," Wenger told journalists.

"But we felt at the time he might not be completely ready.

"Sometimes when you watch a striker playing in a scrappy Championship game you can think ‘yes, he has something but... ’

"We continued to follow his progress but suddenly he moved to Guingamp, then to the club of his dreams at Marseille and then on to Chelsea.

"Looking back now, of course it was a mistake. But it is not just us who now have regrets. There were a lot of other clubs watching him then."

Drogba react to benitez after benitez say he had compilation of drogba diving since 4 years he in EPL.

"Benítez was a coach I used to respect a lot. I used to believe he had class but he has seriously disappointed me. His words have shown his weakness. A great coach will never attack a player so meanly. If he doesn't want me to fall down he should focus on his team's game and tell his defenders to stop fouling me. In the first leg, Carragher and Škrteľ didn't stop. At the end of the match I was covered in bruises. Last year, I picked up a broken rib during the Champions League semi-final against Liverpool"

Erm acctually they are..... depending on the team play they will choose different pitch size according to allowed measurements. Manutd pitch size is bigger then arsenals which is bigger then chelsea. you might say that it is too little difference to be be significant.... but you will be wrong as that extra yard make alot of difference... take for example the effectiveness of rory delap throw in at home where their pitch size is narrow as compared to other teams. so yeah there is a difference in pitch sizes all around the world. Nou camp is indeed wider then stamford bridge by about 4 yards. and when you multiply it the playing space is acctually very much bigger about 500 square yards.

Nou Camp, 115 x 78 yards, 8970
Old Trafford, 116 x 76 yards, 8816
Emirates Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436
Stamford Bridge, 110 x 75 yards, 8250
Anfield, 110 x 75 yards, 8250

no its not the same.... fifa set standards a range where you can set your pitch length and with.maybe from 100 x 70 yards to 120 x 80 yards. So you can alter the pitch size withing that range to your teams benefit.. for example saying you like playing wide players then you take wider pitch. so as long as you are within the range you are ok.

I'm just so sick of some childish people. Does these taunt benefit your team? Do they get extra goal when you post stupidly in your competitors' thread? You support yours, go ahead but don't show your foolishness everytime we meet or something.

For a player who once plays for your club in the past, you can't even spell his name for goodness sake. Shame on you, idiot.

thumbup.gif. yes different stadium do have different pitch size. and teams play according to the advantage of their home ground.

But most of the pitch size are selected base on the financial value of the selected properties. The land space in London are quite limited and expensive so you can see that chelsea and arsenal home ground will be much smaller compare to Manchester. White Hart Lane also have a small pitch at 110 x 73 yd and Craven Cottage even smaller.

I think generally spain and italy have much more cheaper land properties compare to england, that is way they always have a bigger stadium compare to their england counter-part and often with empty seats.

With the country density, spain at 90 people/km2, Italy at 198.8/km2, and england at 392/km2, you can see how compact is england.

I thought Lampard did really well last night considering his two amazing assists. Ivanovic is probably going to play LB in Camp Nou, Bosingwa (if he is back) on the right, Iva on the left I suppose. Don't think I trust Belletti there.

ahh doesn't it feel good to get some sweet revenge on the teams who beat us at home? hiddink and the boys have really redeemed themselves and hoisted the blue flag up high. really high. smile.gif really proud of the lads for how they've rediscovered their spirit and killer instinct after what was shaping up to be a disastrous season only a few months ago. the problems we encountered with the sacked manager, unhappy players, injuries, etc, would devastate any other lesser team. but we recovered. and with some style as well. if someone said after scolari got sacked we'd go on to beat liverpool and arsenal for a place in the champions league semi-final and fa cup final respectively, i'd say they're crazy and belong in a mental asylum. yet here we are...so whatever happens after this, i'm already happy and satisfied with the team's performance. trophy or no trophy.
to hell with whatever our rival fans might think or say. this is the chelsea i love. smile.gif

p .s : thanks to all the non-blue supporters for their congratulatory messages. appreciate it..even if some of u don't mean it. hehe

It's better to let him go now when he's sellable. I'm not being ungrateful for what he has done for us but with him moving on, it will give our youngsters more opportunity. People like Ivanovic and Mancienne should be given more game time now. Also, perhaps we can use the money to fund transfers for emerging talents elsewhere. It's time to realise that in order to buy we need to sell. We still got Alex who has so far deputized for Riccy almost 2/3 of the season. I don't see why he shouldnt be tipped to replace Riccy considering how many games he's played for us and how far we've come now.

i doubt we can get much for him... unless madrid offers. riccy still in good form.. if the offer is not very high, might as well keep him for backup. wonder how much is his wage?

Very chaotic at the MU thread. Missed one penalty already cursing at him like there's no tomorrow. And these are the very people who praised him when everything is nice and rosy.

Btw, we will be wearing the new home kit for the final.

Yeah, new home kit it will be. I'm a bit skeptical to be honest. The last time we paraded a new home kit in the final, it certainly left a lot to be desired. sad.gif Second time's the charm perhaps.

ferdi and vidic sure kept the defensive line strong. if chelsea can play that way, i think we might be able to pull it off. with more attacking power compared to what ferguson laid on the front tonight.

yeah saw that in the arsenal thread as well. and some of the things posted there were shocking. absolutely shocking. i think we need to cooperate with our fellow chelsea supporters here to prevent that kind of disgusting abuse being rained down on our players, no matter how bad their performance was at the time. there's definitely a limit when it comes to criticising, and thankfully i think most of us here have had the decency to 'control' our emotions and post rationally. let's keep it that way.

Dont worry we help you to revenge against everton at final !

------------------------------------------

for the ricky leaving us next season i see it as a big possiblity cuz..we already got backup and if we want to sign new player we need to get fund and reduce the wage...ricky wage can sure support another two talented defender..this is for the future..

Drogba living legend ? : I agreed, cuz he is the key player in the back to back champion! and he score like hell number of goal for chelsea( to lazy to find the number)..hehhehehe..i respected him along lampard and terry...

SAF let the final slipped away. he should put at least one decent set piece taker/ a crosser like Nani. Terrible set piece by Mu yesterday with Gibson and anderson.

Everton is a straight forward team although they are a very discipline at the back with more than 8 ppl defending ohmy.gif, but they lack of technical skill and poor dribble skill, depended largely on physical strength with high cross. if u pressure more they will always play a back pass. they really miss Arteta's passing visions.

hopefully we can get pass them in the next epl match.

Abuse is ok, esp when we know the players are capable of more than that. However let's show the other fans that we are not that uncivilised to kutuk until like there's no tomorrow, after all players are human.

And an all-Blue final, now that's something to look out for at Wembley!

oh man. 3 games in 7 days, i dont know if the boys can take so much games. maybe we should field in some youngsters for the westham game. since bellamy went to the mancs, i guess the threat has been lowered?

its all depends to mr hiddink now .. if he feels we still can catch up man u and pool , then he will go with 1st team player..

but looking to our subs, theres no replacement for ashley cole .. so will he playing all matches remaining? do hiddink trust hilario to replace cech?

wow... 3 games in a week for us!

im excited and scared at the same time.. fatigue issue is confirm there, injuries is the worst(choi)

This is the challenge Hiddink will face, go 1st team with West Ham, maximizing winning %, or rest them for the next 2 big games....

but % of winning EPL isnt as high as the competitions .. what says u? coz right after West Ham, its Barca mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Abuse is ok, esp when we know the players are capable of more than that.  However let's show the other fans that we are not that uncivilised to kutuk until like there's no tomorrow, after all players are human.

And an all-Blue final, now that's something to look out for at Wembley!
*
yes so far i don't think i've seen anyone here 'stepping over the line' so to speak. but some of the things i saw in another thread were horrible.
i'm not going to quote anyone, but if u read them i'm pretty sure you'll agree. it even pissed me off to be honest as they somehow managed to involve religion in their bashings. makes me sick to the stomach..these people should stop watching football and become fans of lawn bowling instead. at least that seems to be the only kind of pressure their brains can handle. no offense to lawn bowling though. i'm sure its quite stressful in its own unique way.

anyway it looks like the fa cup final rehearsal this thursday. smile.gif
evertonians are going to be extra tired thanks to united dragging them all the way to 120 minutes of football. and penalties.
so we do have a slight advantage in terms of freshness.

i think we should rest lamps. he needs some time off. put him on the bench at worst. not saying that we've got any comfortable 3rd placing in the league but we need lamps in total fitness for the bigger games!

mm very tempting hmm.gif
i dunno man..its everton we're talking about. they will be tired no doubt but definitely they're no mugs. and lampard needs a rest..it would be a disaster to overwork him before the massive games. the only problem is i don't see anyone capable of taking his place even if its just for one half.
ballack is just as tired..maybe even more. essien, mikel and deco in the middle? sweat.gif

*
they are too tired according to SAF recent comments.

well u can't complaint anything about it since it all about football. where you need your 100% commitment and soul to be in the game. easy to say but hard to do ethics is not a reason to choose when you're in the time like this. Even if u won 2 trophies already, that doesn't showed to the world that they owned everything. we beat liverpool and their fans is not at rage as others. i respect liverpool and arsenal fans honestly. they admit their lost. and keep saying that their team will strive again for better performance in the future.

for us chelsea fans, we shouldn't be like an arrogant team where we are very confident on winning everything, the game is not over till the whistle has been blown. the score is not important.. cos wining is winning. be it hard or easy way on doing it, wining will always be the main factor to keep us ahead.

keep on the blue flag rise high till the end of the season, the game is not over yet

Trouble is, the big boys aka Lamps and Terry will not rest until the end of the season, these end-of-season games are the ones to die for, esp they are the club stalwarts. GH will let them play, if not because that they will be able to drive the team on when the chips are down.

looking at lamps and our Captain performance. i can say that we are on the right track on winning the league champ again.. but this is what i fear of. talking about winning trophies here and there.. in the end on one team remains on the top..

definitely the Chelsea backbone players should start all the time, but 3 games in a week including training? I think it might be a little tough on the players, even for Terry and Lamps. Well, its the manager's decision to make, his strategies on how to play the up coming games.

Ivanovic: I can do Messi job

Branislav Ivanovic says he's ready to play at left-back for Chelsea against
Barcelona's Lionel Messi next week.Ivanovic could be handed the job in the Champions League semi with Ashley Cole suspended and told chelseafc.com:

"I played there one time at Lokomotiv Moscow, but just one time."I know the situation, and I don't know if the coach will decide this, but I am here."

ivanovic?

i think that iva's offense is still not good enough for a right back compared to bosingwa, but his defense is rather good. he tends to be a central defender too sometimes. if ivanovic had pace to bombard down the right flank. i'd put him in RB every match! tongue.gif

I'd put Iva at LB too, but something tells me that Ess may be there though. Will have to wait and see. Mikel to cover Ess's absence in midfield, starting with Ballack and Lampard.

hurm... good for offense too, as essiens always hurls forward when he got the chance, and also being behind the midfield, he can bomb a long range shots at given opportunity...

I actually am not so keen seeing Ivanovic to handle Cole's position... he is clumsy sometime =x

Added on April 20, 2009, 7:56 pmoh well come to think of it...

we lost to Liverpool 0-1 in the past matches, same goes to Arsenal...0-3..in BPL

n now we avenged back, winning both of them.. only that this time, both are high-staged competition...

that's a good feeling, u guys with me?

as tony the tiger from kellog's would put it..its GGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! tongue.gif

however we lost 1-2 at home to arsenal..NOT 3-0. that was manutd away mate. but they only drew us 1-1 at home.
ivanovic is best during aerial battles in my opinion. on the ground he is a bit clumsy..will only improve in time though. its the gaffer's call now.

nice discussion....

for me i still blur about the replacement for a.cole...

Next game against Everton i prefer full 1st team...xcept for FB..

Cech
Belleti,Alex,Terry,Ivanovic
Mikel
Essien,Lampard
Nic,Drog,Malouda..

West Ham...Full first team...maybe Belletti or Feriera can play..

Cech
Belleti,Alex,Terry,A.Cole
Mikel
Ballack,Lampard
Kalou,Drog,Malouda

* sub youngster if we already lead by 2 or 3 but it kind a impossible with WEST HAM current form they tied Aston 1-1

Barca

Cech
Essien,Alex,Terry,Ivanovic
Mikel
Ballack,Lampard
Nic,Drog,Malouda

Just my Opinion...the final lineup is up to the BOSS!...

Hahahaha...Let be the only blue!

this is my opinion.. i prefer essien to play at ashley cole place against barca simply because he have more experience than ivanovic.

but, the main problem is that wingers from good teams usually change their flanks and the love torturing opposition defender. so, even with essien at left back, i dont think messi will confront him face to face since ivanovic is the obvious less-expeience player. if eto'o and henry join also, sure can be a nightmare for ivanovic.

however, there will always be a miracle in football. hopefully we can get through ^^V

As far as I remember, he didn't score anything for us. Not even in the penalty shootout against Charlton which eventually, they won.

Unless you meant... Reserves, then yes. He scored goals with his famous canon shots.

Okay, FA Cup final preview this Thursday morning. A reunion between our gaffer and Tim Cahill. Who will start and who will not? After a forgetable 1-1 draw at Goodison Park last December (where JT was sent off for a challenge on Leon Osman), can we put up a better performance this time around?
What do you guys think? Voice it out...

i think we can win Everton this time. both our attacking and defensive department is on top form. terry and alex are making good clean tackles while drogba, lamps and malouda are terrorizing any team's defense. we can take down Everton if both teams are at their best.

the only thing now is that im not too convinced about the reaction attitude. its much too risky although its good. we should kill the game early and make sure teams cannot make a come back with a strong defense.

the last three matches have been absolutely unpredictable. so i don't really know what to expect. i'll give it a shot anway laugh.gif
the 1-1 draw was a waste. but i have to give credit to the boys for holding out. (one of the few times scolari made a tactical change that paid off?) everton are a really hardworking team but i think they're going to feel a bit fatigued after the exertions at wembley.
the boys are going to be up for it and try to break them down early. cos they'd want to send a strong message ahead of the fa cup final.
we should be able to take 3 points but not by a big goal margin.

Players rotations is very important because the gap between each match is not long.
So, we need to rest some key players. Essien must be subtituted with Mikel.
Play Mancienne at RB and Ivanovic at LB.
We need to see whether Ivanovic can play at LB before facing Barcelona.

heard Mancienne was rather sloppy in a fullback position during the reserves game. I guess we should rule him out of the barca game, maybe he isnt ready yet. heard he was out maneuvered a few times on the defense but dangerous on the attack.

Wow so fast Cech already labelled the worst one. And to think he was only bad for the 2 games v Bolton and Liverpool. Other than that, he was solid, but seems that a lot of ppl have short-term memories nowadays.

Mancienne was rightly tested at LB for a reserve game, and not jeopardised in big games in the league prior to the UCL SF. We can always fall back on Ess for the UCL, as Ess played there before anyway, and with good effect too. Why test LB when we have A Cole on duty for league games?

And it's PETR CECH and not anyone else mind you. For a Chelsea fan, the least you can do is spell your player's name correctly.

i wouldn't say 'lost' it completely danial..prior to the bolton game he was actually quite brilliant. its just his last few games that have been a little dodgy. okay maybe a lot. but there's every chance he'll regain his good form so have faith. still one of the best if not THE best keepers when it comes to one on one situations. mainly his judgement for aerial balls have been suspect. a clean sheet against everton will go a long way to improve his confidence. and btw, the goal conceded against arsenal was certainly no fault of his.

quaresma's been getting a few reserve game appearances here and there..but nowhere in sight of the first team. i think it has a lot to do with his inability to track back and win the ball when we're not in possession. if u notice kalou does this quite well actually..even if he's not making an impact upfront in a game. this is an aspect hiddink seems to value greatly within our squad. so quaresma's still around the chelsea grounds..training and stuff. just not getting much action. he has scored a couple of exquisite goals for the reserves and u can look for them on youtube. i do have a feeling he'll be on the bench against everton.

just key in 'chelsea reserves vs' there's a guy there who religiously uploads vids of our latest youth and reserve matches. respect! flex.gif
i believe his username is EskWeston..so alternatively u can search for that. i recommend all of the others here to keep up with our young ones as well. then u can gauge their ability and likelihood of breaking into the first team. and the best part is we can discuss about them here! rclxm9.gif

yeap i watched loads of reserves videos just now. i'd say out attack is quite good. very dangerous on the attack, but the defense is pure crap. players are usually ball watching during defense.

when brendan rodgers was in charge, we were much, much more consistent. after he left, our reserve team's standards have dropped considerably.
what's worrying is the dip in form was really swift. i guess paul clement needs more time to get the team playing the way he wants. rodgers now manages watford and along with steve clarke, in my opinion are two big losses for chelsea fc this season. let's just hope wilkins and clement are up for it smile.gif

Yeah, Wilkins used to be dubbed as the public relations guy during Scolari's tenure. Mainly being asked to attend post-match interview as Scolari hardly speaks English and he was rarely involved in any tactics discussion. Scolari overlooked him in favour of his trusted assistant and good friend, Teixeira. But now, Wilkins is slowly proving the doubters the wrong, his partnership with Guus albeit short is a fruitful one. Not to mention that Wilkins has a 100% winning record as a Chelsea manager!

Hiddink just played Mancienne on LB in the Reserves. He was talking about playing him against Barca but mentioned that there were other options as well.

I guess the best shot would be Iva on LB, Bosingwa on RB.

@plokoon : by any chance, can u make a list of top 5 chelsea goal scorers in 1 column as statistic on page 1, (either by total goals scored in a season, or just BPL) , instead of tagging their tally beside their names? just asking coz ranking list is alot nicer to be viewed instead.. specially when a player is climbing up n up n up *cough* u know who *cough*

example, just a draft:-

[Player's name] [Priority stat(say, goal total/season)] [2nd stat,say BPL goals?]
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

just an inside-of-us's tally.

just a mere suggestion, boss.. thx for reading ^.^

we shouldn't become too overconfident over this final FA. Since it's final. they might also have some tactics and surprise elements to own the game. Don't ended up like the cocky lolnaldo, where he told the rest of the world that he can win it big. be moderate guys. we will won only after the whistle blown.

Definitely i want my team to won this match. i want chelsea to win the UCL also. I also want my team to won the BPL.. let's hope that our key players can performs well for the upcoming match

what shah said is right. they might upset us if we let our guard down knowing we'll win the game.

i just hope the ref is not the deciding factor for who wins or lose.

that's a little flip if u asked me. after tonight match, must get all perfect 3 points for each match to won the BPL. and be reminded that man u still got an advantage of one game spare for them to be used later.

we need the scoring machine beast, mr drog to do the job. and if lampard can feed him like what he have done on the past arsenal match, we can see some light from a distant road. road that will lead us to the BPL championship once again like we used to be

i don't really think it'll make a difference. as i've highlighted this season we've been hard done by numerous decisions by refs and linesmen.
most of them in important games, and have cost us precious points. i'm not going to repeat every single one of them again as its too tedious.
i've lost faith in the men in black and i'd love to see chelsea strive against all odds to lift the trophy, even if a baboon is nominated as the ref.
no wait a sec..that's an insult to baboons. i actually think baboons can do a better job.

if im not mistaken..according to history:

1. Every season Barca win the La Liga..Chelsea win the BPL..

2. Liverpool never finish second when Man Utd win the BPL..

3. Real Madrid jinx no need to disclose again..

4. David Moyes never succeed to win against Chelsea in his entire carreer as Manager..

Nothing to conclude, just to write sumthing that might be interesting to look forward..

even if these facts count. in football a small team cam overrun the bigger one. While there's injuries and politics involved, it's still a risk need to be taken into consideration. while we were shouting out loud about our unbeaten records at our homegrounds, we lost it to the struggling boro.

i like your facts. it's refreshing but nothing gonna change the fact that we are going full fledge on the upcoming match. for toffees, they want to beat us for their club's reputation, and for us we need to win it to make sure that GH will stay with us

yes, we should "force" him to stay tongue.gif. but still let him continue with Russian Football Team until the contract end. and let Ray Wilkins as temporary coach when he go to RFT.But still think Steve Clarke is better than RW.

I think these last few games are very crucial so as much as I like to see youngsters get their dream debut, I think GH would want to play safe and go with the senior and more experienced players.. perhaps when we are winning 3-0 or 4-0? But lets not forget the match against Bolton too.. hmm

ah oh ah oh..

what a 1st half..

everton got so many chances .. scary leh..

Chelsea shouldve bagged a goal when EVE defender made a mistake, but Anelka lobbed the ball which Malouda could've received it easier if he jz ground-pass it... that was the best chances we got in 1st half i think.

everton passing is good, their attack power is also not bad.. they created chances after chances oh..

The boys were quick on the break but so far still fail to penetrate their penalty box. The scariest moment in the first half has got to be the unmarked Jo. Luckily he put the shot wide.

too many mistake in defending spaces and giving ball away cheaply.

Our this weekend's game v WH, I'd think GH would have to assess whether should we continue with our assault on the title, as not many games left. Also, United are like 6 points ahead of us, and with 1 game in hand. Quite bleak IMO.

Better to focus on our next 2 games in the UCL, after all it's only 3 games away from winning ol' big ears.

true..

is it worth pressing through BPL now? for the pride if not victory? we have UCL seat anyways... so its just, the pride?

the pride that could costs us 2 big games later?

what will Hiddink do? give more gametime to our youngster into BPL at the end of the season? experimenting stuffs ? or just go with the same squad n win other remaining games?

we need the impact from every games, morale boost n all by playing regularly regardless of the title. but the exhaustion? fatigue..how do we handle that?

That's why we have to see how this weekend pans out. If United wins, Liverpool and ourselves do not win, United will be miles ahead and should be shoo-in for the title already by then.

No more pride involved, let's go for titles. UCL and FA Cup, not bad for a season's worth IMO. Better than last season sad.gif

well its not the final nail in the coffin. the final nail went in quite a few games ago in my opinion. smile.gif
contrary to what most of u here think, from my point of view the team didn't look tired at all. especially in the second half.
its just the final ball that let them down time after time, with players sometimes taking too many touches, trying too hard to dribble, misplaced layoffs, etc, etc. we swarmed the area right outside everton's pen box yet we couldn't get through. you've got to hand it to them, their defense was pretty solid. this time we only woke up in the second 45 minutes, and the first half looked more like a possession game for us.

anyway we have to be realisitic. can't expect hiddink to come in and win every game he's in charge now right?
one thing's for sure it won't be an easy fa cup final. the boys should bear in mind the 4 points everton have taken away from chelsea this season, and use that as fuel to propel them towards victory in our upcoming 'rematch.'

cant agree more with both of u..

anyways, i cant still forget Terry's piledriver last nite... it was 100% accurate, 100% power n curve handsomely.. but Friedel was 100% aware of that.

IMO, just like what Kerp said, we tend to dribble too much, trying to meddle with the balls longer than we should...we shud keep bombing n let them pay with more n more cornerkicks instead.

If Chelsea draw or lose v WH, and MU win this weekend, there'll only be 4 games left for us, and the gap would be 8 to 9 points. And if MU win the game in hand, gap will be 11 to 12 points with 4 games left, means that MU must lose all the remaining games of theirs for us to be crowned champions. And that is, if Liverpool lose all their 4 games as well (after this weekend). Tall order, don't you think?

you don't understand that the toll it takes on the team is immense. that's 3 games in the span of a week, you know. and we're not talking about you or i going to futsal for 1 hour 3 times in a week.

we're talking about high intensity games

If we do win and they slip, I'd say that we will stand a chance. However, if we slip again in this coming match then basically, it's gone like what the others mention. aw13 got it right, CL and FA Cup for a season.. that achievement to me is impressive enough.

Let's see how they react. Come on, Chels!

i second that. give a couple of the reserve players a half at least. they've been patient and working hard in training just like the rest of the team.
a good run out will be well deserved. i'm still worried about westham though as clarkey does have the inside scoop on us. but u know what? let's just throw caution to the wind and freshen things up a bit. it could work in our favour as he knows all of our first team members inside out by now.
a reserve player or two would disrupt their preparations a bit as they wouldn't be sure what to expect.

I would like to see Mellis to get some vital minutes on the pitch yesterday but it did not materialise. It will be great if he is selected again this weekend.

YELLOW IS THE COLOUR

Sorry for my mistake about our boys wearing blue for the final. We lost the toss of coin for the colour choosing with Everton. Instead, we will be kitted out in our fantastic yellow strip!

Carlo Ancelotti has agreed to become the next manager of Chelsea.

The Italian said ‘Yes’ earlier this week and talks are continuing about the contract he will sign with the Blues.

Starsport revealed earlier this month how owner Roman Abramovich had picked the AC Milan boss because he liked the way he operates at the San Siro.

Ancelloti has been happy to tell owner Silvio Berlusconi which areas of the team he feels need strengthening – and leave the actual choice of players to the politician.

Russian tycoon Abramovich is keen to have more involvement in recruitment and has now persuaded Ancelotti to quit Milan after eight years.

Officially, Ancelotti, 49, is having to maintain he is not leaving the Italian giants as his team bid to secure second place in Serie A.

Starsport also revealed this month how Ancelotti has been having English lessons three times a week. Milan have a ready-made replacement, with former Barcelona boss and Milan favourite Frank Rijkaard set to return after a year out of management.

Earlier this week Guus Hiddink, who will return to Russia full-time in the summer, name-checked Ancelotti when he was asked about fellow Dutchman Rijkaard succeeding him.

“I know Frank but I know Ancelotti and other candidates whose names have appeared,” said Hiddink.

England star Ashley Cole is ready to sign for life at Chelsea with the Blues set to offer the 28-year-old a new deal this summer.

i would prefer Rijkaard or Hiddink. If the club will be able to get kaka through Ancelotti then it would be a good choice. But the newspaper said Mu is prepare to swop Kaka for 70m by selling Ronaldo to R.Madrid.

Lamps was right to be infuriated by the DJ comments who seemed to understand only one side of the story, which is from his ex-wife, Elen Rives.

Lately, the news has been reporting how Elen is very distraught and having a hard time coping with the kids in tow. She also has gone on to mention that Lamps has been turning their home in London as a bachelor pad, seeing different girls, etc.

Now we might not be sure whether there is an iota of truth in all these. I'm not saying that Elen is fishing for symphaty but sometimes it is better to hear both sides of the story before we start calling for Lamps' head. It's good to know that Lamps has come out to address the issue personally.

But then again, who are we to snoop on people's privacy. It's better for us to judge his on pitch performance rather than off pitch.

I think the DJ is a bloody twat, and it really was unfair on Franky. That DJ shud be throttled up his backside for all I care. Franky seems to be riding thru a terrible personal storm, yet its him who produces the goods on the field.

I felt so bad for him after reading the news, i went to bed feeling sad. He deserves more than that. Bloody hell deserves at least a nomination in the PFA Player of The Year.

Been a big fan of him since his West Ham days, and was so disappointed United didnt bid for him when Chelsea went in. Anyways, all the best for whatever game you guys have next smile.gif
*
thanks for the support mate smile.gif the media in the uk can get really insane sometimes..its absolutely disgusting when u see how low they're willing to stoop. some people just don't know when to draw the line and actively seek out 'stories' about other people's personal lives. then they blab about it like its fact and act as if they're the guardians of morality for humankind. doesn't matter which club we support, its not right to subject a person to this kind of treatment especially when it has absolutely nothing to do with football. i'm glad lamps called in and gave him a good rollicking.

looks like united have sewn up the title eh..well they deserve it the most out of the top four. good on you guys for such high levels of consistency.

actually i think bosingwa is capable of supporting him. wow..i really expected essien to play there. but nevermind..i've said before he's capable of some very good defending as has been observed under hiddink's tenure. messi loves to cut inside, so hopefully that will help him a little since jose's mostly right footed. i wouldn't say his left foot is useless as he does cross sometimes when he cuts inside from that right and i'm sure none of u have forgotten his brilliant left-footed piledriver against westbrom!

i mean for boss to contain messi, he need to stay on the defense line, rarely going forward. if not, then its like a suicide if barca counter through messi. so, just let malouda (+ someone from midfield perhaps) to do the attacking from the left side.

Wilkins? More like Hiddink throwing himself into action. He's one heck of a midfielder back in his days. tongue.gif

gronkjaer!haha one of our fastest players ever. too bad he couldn't cross to save his life. tongue.gif in a way, he reminds me of SWP.
yeah quaresma should have a go. westham aren't that physical are they...they like to pass and move. zola's influence is quite apparent in that sense.

HAIL PETR CECH! alright thats enough.

what about our left back. somehow i can feel that bosingwa feels really uncomfortable in that position. i think he is too used to playing on the right. i have a feeling essien will take the job sad.gif

it was really smooth passing in the first half, but no finish though, looks like we cant put our money on anelka after all. come second half, we're not attacking anymore.

Not really the first time but he has a poor record of saving penalties. He's good at 1on1's though.
If Im not mistaken he did save Ronaldo's penalty in last year's UCL final, right?

If he can sharpen up his penalty saving skill and high ball saving (where he often give away recently after his head bang with Fu@king Hunt) he would be unbeatable. tongue.gif.

He already world number 1 at least at chelsea tongue.gif.

clean sheet woooot! good pen save from cech..however there was one nightmare moment when he didn't get to the ball during a corner.
someone got in a header and tristan flicked it towards goal. thankfully mikel was guarding the post. oh well..its still a clean sheet and this will be a timely boost to cech's confidence ahead of the barca game. the catalans drew 2-2 at valencia btw. valencia were leading and could've won it if not for a silly mistake by their keeper. so they're not as 'unstoppable' as everyone hypes them up to be.

The Barca players do have one weakness. The lack of aerial threat. Mourinho says we can capitalise on that.

sweat.gif my mistake. but i never mean on the penalty shootout. what i mean is in match penalty kick.

because he always try to pick/guess a direction before before taker kick the ball, which in my opinion it is not a good method.
wherelese Van der sar/ reina will wait to see and choose the direction of the ball hit by takers that is why they have a higher save ratio.

they will use open play tactic.mid will control possession while anelka + malouda will feed drog with crossing.meanwhile, lamps and 13allack will try as lot as possible long shoot, hope that drogba will snap any possibelities of 'bola muntah' from keeper.that the only way we can trash em.(noob manager here, always dream being football manager tongue.gif )

i think hiddink will go for the 4-2-3-1 again. who knows iva is going to take the left back. dont let him bombard too far down. bosingwa can stay on the right back and continue the flank. besides, iva played on left back once in his previous club if im not mistaken?

if i was hiddink. i'd go for

-----------cech-----------
bos---alex---terry---iva
----ballack-----essien---
kalou--lamps--malouda
---------drogba----------

i left anelka out for the starting lineup because he is at his best when is subbed in smile.gif lol. sounds like a stupid reason.

indeed. anelka is a very good player. i wonder what is happening on the training ground, the coaches rarely partners anelka with drogba. instead keeping anelka on the wings.
