Pls help, am looking to buy the Viao X. ANy comments? ANy lag running Win7? On the extended Battery, i heard that it needs to be screwed on??

Bought a P23 some months back, its cool and portable but really small, strain to see words...getting old. and the mouse its not that great. SPeaker sound is very low, cant use it to listen to music.. hope the X sounds louder.

have not seen the physical machine yet .. in a 3rd world country right now.

to summarize, the X series is actually the huge version of P series.
its not lagging running WIn7, but with aero on, it have slightly poor performance. Thats the reason by default it has aero off on Windows 7.
regarding the screw on, yes, you have to screw it by your finger to tighten the lock for the extended battery. its easily to do without the need of other tools rather than your finger.
and as for speaker, dont expect it to be loud srsly especially on portable notebook. iit more or less the same like P but slightly better due to size of speaker use.

dont think changing to winxp chinese will void your warranty, in fact sony does provide support of upgrading to other OS such as upgrading to windows 7.. wink.gif

aero is glass look for your desktop appearance. it use some of graphic resources.

Added on January 14, 2010, 11:39 pmso far, no faults and hopefully wont have any smile.gif
changing os wont void the warranty, just they (sony) dont want you to mess with your pc like unable to type on keyboard (keyboard key change etc) which usually done by someone who is lack of knowledge on OS.

the peeps at service center even told that someone mess up their keyboard setting after change the default OS and end up sending back the unit back to service center...lol

Same here. Was considering buying the CW 16 for 3999, but seller told me it'll be obsolete soon. Anyone have insider news on what we should expect in terms of specs and price?

The Cw is a relatively new product, so expect only minor changes such as the Core2Duo to i3 (CW25) and i5 (CW26)

The current price for CW16 (RM3999) is still acceptable for me. I am afraid that the new updates will cost RM4k plus which is out of my budget...

Is it? Where do you find the current price? Is it for CW16? SonyStyle still has the RM3999 for CW16.

Yes, it'll lag when playing Warcraft (tried and proven)

movie...depend on which. However, I also experience lag for a DVD Rip movie. sleep.gif

How about the NW 25 GF? Should we expect an update soon?

Was told the CW will revert to it's usual price of 4499 when it's updated.
