Same here. Was considering buying the CW 16 for 3999, but seller told me it'll be obsolete soon. Anyone have insider news on what we should expect in terms of specs and price?

How about the NW 25 GF? Should we expect an update soon?

Was told the CW will revert to it's usual price of 4499 when it's updated.

Which specific CW you're talking about?
There are 3 in the market currently, namely the CW15, CW16 and CW18.

Not too sure, asked bout when the CW16 would be updated since it's gonna be obsolete soon and what specs improvement to expect. Was told it should be March the earliest, specs would be most likely I3 processor and it would revert to 4499 price. Maybe someone else has more info?

I'm no expert but I would assume so? Unless they drop the price again hmm.gif hmm.gif Was told there's only mainly pink and white stock left, blue has been out of stock for awhile sad.gif

Kinda torn between choosing the CW16 and NW25 now. Can anyone advise on why I should get one over the other?

March is simply too late.

CW25 (CW15 replacement) = i3 processor + nVidia GF 310M RM 3,299
CW26 (CW16 replacement) = i5 processor + nVidia GF 330M + 500GB HDD + WXGA++ (1600 x 900) Vaio Display Premium Plus RM 3,999
CW28 (CW18 replacement) = i5 processor + BluRay disc drive + WXGA++ (1600 x 900) Vaio Display RM 4,999

The one quoting you RM4,499 obviously wanna frighten you so that he could clear his inventory as fast as possible. smile.gif
It is safer to assume that the current price for CW16 will continue till while stock last.
Thanks heaps for the info sweat.gif Was just about to set my mind on getting the CW16. In that case I'd much rather wait for the CW26 or even the CW25. If it's earlier than March that'll be great, any idea on when they're set to hit Sony shelves?

Is there a major difference in price? If not, won't be worth taking the risk if it turns out to be dodgy and you don't get a valid warranty.

If we register the product within 7 days, would that mean we have 15 months of warranty in total?

Yupz I think so, you have to register as a premier member at Sony.com. W/o a purchase you can only register as a regular member (aka savvy member) smile.gif

Wooot someone just confirmed this for me rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

The CW 25 comes in 3 colours, White Black and Pink, CW 26 4 colours, plus Red. And the CW 28 only comes in black.

Now to decide between the CW 25 and 26, anyone have any opinions of why I should get one over the other?

Still trying to get more news of whether there're more new releases, and whether the new CW's come with any free gifts smile.gif

Yup. Yes. RM 4,999.
If you're thinking of buying a CW, my tip to you is, wait for the week before CNY. wink.gif

What's the purpose of the laptop if you purchase it?
In my opinion, the CW26 is quite a great buy because the Turboboost technology is something relatively "new" in the market. You're basically paying the same price (CW16) for something "new" in the market. Furthermore, you'll get a higher resolution screen with the CW26 and watching movies (especially BRRip) is so much nicer now. In addition to that, you'll get 500GB of HDD space for your usage.

However, the i3 is also at least a little bit better than the current processor in CW16, thanks to the hyperthreading technology. A good machine for every basic computer needs.

Hrm I'm leaving just before CNY on Friday. Will there be a special CNY promo? The more freebies the better eg decent laptop bag or even the mouse biggrin.gif

Just gonna use the laptop for Uni work, everyday surfing, movies etc.
