Z27 user here, used S48, SZ48 before

ddr2 and ddr3 have 2 different type of slot, if a laptop use ddr2 means it uses ddr2 only, and if it used ddr3 means ddr3 only, no backward compatiblity

well, that is because the motherboard itself has both ddr2 and ddr3 slot

you can look at this gigabyte P35C-DS3R motherbord, 2 green DIMM slots for DDR3 and 4 dimm slots (Red+yellow) are meant for the traditional DDR2

i forgot how much point i earn last time, but the point i earn from the vaio z purchase, i manage to redeem it for a 3 years extended warranty with RM50 top-up

bought the extended warranty together with my vaio purchased. i bought mine at sony style tebrau city at JB..

i was told only sonystyle shop can get the point and redeem it, not sure how true is it.
there is 4 sonystyle shop, KLCC, Curve, Time Square and Tebrau City.

i got the maybank sony card, free extended for one year, and the point i get is for the 3rd year warranty.. that why i can redeem the points for the 3rd year warranty with only RM50 ..

the 3rd year warranty is purchase on sony style card point

get the latest vaio utilities software and install in this sequence (mine is vaio z and all the function key works fine)



you can get all this utilities software at sony vaio europe or US website, malaysia and singapore version check for the model number and prevent you from installing them.

just got a full retail ultimate version last week and install, work perfect on my vaio z27

dont think changing to winxp chinese will void your warranty, in fact sony does provide support of upgrading to other OS such as upgrading to windows 7..

it will be perfect with 3.5g modem module built-in!

that would be free man without need to work, rich as well of course.. where got business man need to rush to search for FREE wireless when he need internet access?

didn't realise that Z115 doesn't come with optical drive.. but previous model with optical drive also about 1.4kg... wonder what they put inside the empty slot..

meaning if there is a bluray version, it will use ssd also!
