Yeah, actually got my projector from Amazon-US also. Quite cheap. And it's a 3D projector. Later most probably upgrade to Full HD 3D projector when the price is affordable. biggrin.gif

What's the price of FULL HD 3D Projector and a reasonable size screen would be offered at? ANy stores to recommend?

The only recommendation I can give is Sharp XV-17000 Full HD DLP projector around USD 4k. If your primary objective is to get 3D, I don't think JVC RS40, RS50 and RS60 is a good choice due to low lumens unless you have high gain screen at less than 100" diagonal.

Squeezebox Touch. Nice ...... I take it you're running optical into the 4311?

Have you compared the audio quality against this signal chain : source (hdd) -> 4311 (thru networking feature) -> speakers?

Wondering how the AKM4420 would stack up against the Denon's AKM 4358VQ multi-channel DAC? I've always been slightly sceptical of the AQ since Logitech bought over from Slim Devices.

i have tried both optical and RCA into the denon running 2-channel direct....

the RCA is the option to test the DAC of the squeezebox right?
and optical passes digital signal for the denon to process innit?

i find with the RCA a warmer and more subdued style of sound...drums and other LFE almost sounds dull but vocal and acoustic instruments become the forefront and almost have a dry, warm and fuzzy feel about it...i like this for jazz, chill and classical...

the optical at first seems the more direct and clean sounding and the drums and beats are more pronounced...i would much rather listen to modern pop, metal and techno this way...

which is better would really depend on the listener... for me... i have both options connected smile.gif (why not right? tongue.gif)

My basic setup,

Front Speakers: Pioneer S-31-K

Surround Speakers: Pioneer S-31B-LR-K

Centre Speaker: Pioneer S-31C-K

Subwoofer: Pioneer S-51W

AVR: Pioneer VSX-519

LCD: Panasonic TH-L42U29K

Blu ray player: Panasonic DMP-BD45

Subwoofer: Monster cable

Speaker cables: Jalan Pasar cables with 12 gauge
(Read an article about the truth of speaker cable, speaker gauge is more important than material, aim for bigger gauge is your speaker cables are long)

HDMI: giraffe HDMI(Free), Panasonic HDMI(Free), US HDMI cable(bought 1 USD)
(Read many articles about this, digital signal will be either 1 or 0, you won't gain much performance by using expensive cable)

Wow, squeezebox touch!! Hard to find many squeezebox kaki even in audiophile forum. I've been using duet for 3 years. If you do own an I-phone or I-pad, download app named iPeng then you can have control over your Touch with album art display on your I-device. I assume that would be more fun than duet since Touch has large display screen plus a I-device with album art display. Try to connect it to an integrated amp you will be amazed by its original AQ just via RCA output (not to mention with external DAC). I use it to play lossless file. Congrat on your new Touch, enjoy your music..

ya thanks! no official distribute of the squeezebox products in this entire region...even the logitech distributors dont carry then... had to hunt one down online and a place in singapore popped up smile.gif

have heard of ipeng but not tried yet...maybe try install on my wife's iphone... yea i like the SB's warm sound via RCA...was pleasantly surprized... i think its even better than the sound from my previous soundcard - auzentech X-Fi prelude which had an AKM AK-4396

for audiophile grade, you'd have to move up to the Logitech Transporter. but the price is really prohibitive. i think the SB Touch hits a nice price point vs features/quality.

The SBT + Dac setup delivers what I'd call the best bang for the buck digital setup. Personally, after hearing a ton of "digital" setup, including audio aero capitole reference and many highly acclaimed and fairly expensive setup (if not beyond many people's reach), I'd decided to stop my digital venture at this stage. The next logical upgrade step which would yield significant improvements in SQ would be stepping into the LP world biggrin.gif A Nottingham TT is what I've been eying for awhile
