i have my old home theater system more than 6-7 years,after that never go to hi-fi shop,going through any home theater thread because i lied to myself that my set up is the best(it remind me that buying home theater system is never ending story always changed new model)just recently chat with shuto1 that he is looking for hd movies more than 20GB and he told me that the feel is difference from true hd.so i just open the thread shuto1 post recently and read about this thread and it makes me feel wow what is this true hd and others not really understand so looking information about new avr amp feathers,my god im so downgrade already so just make the decision to change avr amp first,others will change later.

Hmm, i'm slowly moving into the world. Doing lots of reading and understanding the AV stuff before i would build my own HT [of course with supporting fund]

I'll wait and get the best for my home..

Probably i'll start off with HTIB. But im preparing a budget like RM7-8k.

Of course, i cant afford a plasma now. Maybe later, but wanna utilize the LED price offered at the moment.
And plus the customized HT. So, i guess the budg for HT is approx 4k. Display 4k.

i have a question.

Why i see lots of setups where the amp/players are placed under the screen? Dont the led lights from the amp/player distract movie watchers when watching movies? Imaging a dark scene where the screen is totally dark and you see dts hd master on your amp and Blu-ray 107.43 on the player. Wouldnt it be less distracting if the amp/players are placed at the side of the home or better still at the back (nearer to the projector (less cost on HDMI cable)) and easily reachable. Dun have to walk all the way to the front to turn off the power socket for example.

i need your advice bout the center speaker.I'm using a RX440 match with those local speaker set (volcano). I notice the sound from the center speaker is abit low especially when playing a movie where the human voices are lower on my expectation. The center speaker actually have 2 cones and a tweeter. I tried to feel the cone when playing on a movie, it seems the voice is only coming out from the left cone with punchy vibration  and the right cone seems vibrate but seems less sound came out.. with low vibration on the cone. Is this normal? Please help..

I think this will also qualify as part of my HT setup.
For my 60th birthday, the wifey bought for me an exclusive permanent Gold Class seat (admit one only) for my BD viewing pleasure; how sweet of her! 
See, it is even diamond studded that looks like plastic! 
This is a far cry from my previous 3rd class seat that I bought for myself, sigh. Just leave it to the ladies to do the shopping.
