QUOTE(v1rtual @ Sep 23 2009, 06:48 PM) may i know how do you do the cloning? software? Google for Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. Just plug your drive into a USB 2.5" Enclosure. Open you software, press "Clone". Done.

QUOTE(ujoewong @ Sep 23 2009, 06:12 PM) 1st impression, FAST ! Just cloned my main drive into my SSD. Gosh, everything is so much snappier. Launching Microsoft Word used to take 8-11 bounce on my previous Western Digital 500GB Scorpio Blue, how about now you ask? It is like opening Safari, just took a second. Photoshop CS4 took 2 sec to launch. Best of all, I can't seem to feel any vibration on my palm-rest area anymore. That may increase of my Battery Life Hopefully? Played around with Command+A in my Application Folder and launch every App I have. It just took seconds to launch everything. The dock suddenly became super long (without lag). Haha. SSD Rocks ! "The Intel X25-M Gen 2 80GB is worth it" end quote. wow... impressive.. how about the battery life? any changes? This post has been edited by hapa: Sep 23 2009, 09:07 PM

QUOTE(hapa @ Sep 23 2009, 09:06 PM) wow... impressive.. how about the battery life? any changes? Haven't really test the battery life. But, I think it should be better. I think most probably I'm gonna do a clean install of Snow Leopard back again. Don't really feel good about clones. I think doing a clean install is gonna be faster. Not too sure about that, but it gives me a good feeling about it. In case anyone do wonder, I'm using a MacBook Aluminum 2.4Ghz. No problems with SATA issues compared to the new Aluminum MacBook Pros about the beach ball thing won't stop spinning.

QUOTE(MC_Amig0 @ Sep 25 2009, 08:40 PM) can new Mac Mini use SSD? Yup, can be replaced by any standard sized 2.5" HDD/SSD. What you should be worried about is the removal and installation process as it's not as straightforward compared to MacBooks.

i have a question about the RAM upgrade.
I got 2 macbook pro 13.3" but i only have budget to buy 2 x 2GB ram.
If you put 1GB + 2GB for each, will this combination cause problem to degrade the performance?
Thanks.

So how much i can sell my 2x1GB? can give me some price guide? i recommend that u keep it for warranty purposes.. if u send ur mac for warranty.. u can put back the original ram, unless ofc oz ur using KTA or apple certified/validated rams and ur 2x1gb is apple oem ram, which does not carry any warranty if used outside its original place.. and it maybe difficult to sell unless u priced it very attractively This post has been edited by jinaun: Sep 25 2009, 10:44 PM

thanks jinaun for the advise. I will keep the original RAM since no value and better keep for future warranty. By the way, just upgraded 1 of our mbp to 4GB with (2x2GB Kingston KVR), no issue so far.... will try to leave it over night and see.
