err... i think for the heat of rams, it depends on the build of the ram itself. hotter feeling on the outside doesn't means the rams isn't good. it might be caused by a good heat dissipation, rite? btw, as long as it's in the range of operating temp, there's nothing to worry....

hi, i m new here. Wanna ask all the sifus for advise.
I have an old Macbook Pro 15" Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz. Everything original with 1GB RAM. I wanna increase the RAM. But according to my research, my MBP can only support up to 3GB.
So my question is do i just get a 2GB to upgrade to 3GB. Will this affect the performance? According to "jinaun old post: it will work fine.. but your mbp may take some performance hit as the after the 1gb boundry of ur 2GB stick will onli work at single channel"
Or should i get 2x 2GB RAM. But i will lose 1GB RAM.
Appreciate your advise.
cheers

One slot free. *Apple officially supports a maximum of 3 GB of RAM but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 4 GB of RAM using two 2 GB memory modules with some limitations.

What brand and where? cheers My 2 cents opinion: based on my understanding, since your mbp unable to utilize full 4GB, just get 1 x 2GB to add on to your existing 1GB. (total of 3GB) I got my Kingston KVR 2 x 2GB DDR3 1066MHz, 2nd hand from one of the forumer in LYN, RM200 only

DDR3 1066MHz SODIMM:
Kingston KVR - RM145 Corsair - RM140 Kingmax - RM140 Mushkin - RM138

You should not open a new topic to ask a question. Anyway, to answer your question. Yes it does. SSD are 2.5" in size. Same size as your current HDD.

I believe your MBP uses a SATA connector which is pretty much what SSDs use. You might want to do a fair bit of research before jumping into SSD, as some have issues.
A good SSD would the the Intel X25M or the OCZ Vertex Series.
