QUOTE(wei @ Sep 8 2009, 03:45 PM) LOL, it seems like the same/similar supplier is doing that everywhere around. I had a client whom affected too. They're being charged premium price for Value RAM. hint hint micron!Things about RAM is the manufacturer change the chip supplier time to time. Even the same brand that been tested to work will yield a different result because the chips are different. Apple only uses a few OEM supplier for their RAM. The best if you could get the same chip/manufacturer. Cause apple is using them also mar |

Eh... another question for Eithanius/xaw5126,
Is there such a convertor to convert my FW400 to enable it to use with my FW800 port?! The new MBPs don't come with a FW400 port |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Sep 9 2009, 12:47 AM) Should be ok... I might plan to get one for my external iSight which uses FW400...Any USB hub should do fine. Preferably the ones with dedicated power supply, in case you need to plug onto USB-powered devices.... |

QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Sep 8 2009, 10:43 PM) btw, i've gotta thank you for the link...got myself a pair of Crucial rams for my 13" MBP. 4GB of RAM definitely made things smoother now since the stuff i run hogs memory quite a bit; parallels with winxp, aperture, adobe photoshop, premiere pro etc. First time i put it in, it beeped, restarted and repeated. Won't display anything. Put back the original apple (which had hynix chips), still works fine. Put in the Crucial sticks again and it worked. Odd, but I've been using it for almost 2 weeks, no problems. This post has been edited by MetalZone: Sep 9 2009, 04:27 AM |

@Eithanius,
I realise the new MBP slots aren't as user friendly as the last. All ports on 1 side of the laptop doesn't make it easier for right handlers; or does Apple expect people to use their trackpads and not the mouse *grins* Am on an external keyboard now; it would help in keeping the keys on my MBP clean but the screen is just too small for my liking - looks like I need to resetup my office space at home So back to the question - just tell me which USB hub to get and at what price and where to get it from and i'll just walk in to ask for it. Also, do U know where I can get the SonnetTech FW800 to FW800 connector?! This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Sep 9 2009, 04:29 PM |

Its the same solution my tech guy told me to do Roger. Since I already had someone ask me, here's the link:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=110424283534 It's an expired sale though. But search for his other sales and pick the one with the US pricing which I believe is the cheapest. |
