8gb also hardly can utilized all. 1 DVD is just 4gb++, u can put the whole DVD into your ram. 16gb not sure wanna use for what apps. Is there any single fill more than 4gb (so far i saw blu-ray).

what is the point to upgrade into more powerful hardware when you do not utilize it?

Might as well invest in SSD hard drive to improve the overall performance of the system.

hello brothers, today i just upgraded my MBP 2011. Kingston KTA apple certified ram 8GB (2x4GB 1333mhz DDR3) at czone's apple store digital mall PJ. total damage RM300.

Non certified ram is cheaper by half price. KVA 8GB (2x4GB) just RM150

just get whatever cheapest ddr3 1066mhz ram u can find. it doesnt have to be 'macbook compatible' or 'apple qualified'. if u have that kind of money, upgrade to SSD instead

Agreed, everybody's need different but for me 240GB is minimum. 120GB is just not enough.

Used that for 2-3 months then sold off and got SSD instead. Regret buying the XT. First time install, damn fast for booting up. That's about it.
