I'm planning to purchase my first Apple OS X pc

Which is better Macbook Pro of Macbook Air
I would like to know should I upgrade the memory via apple or self upgrade which is cheaper ?

And should I upgrade the warranty to 3 years ?

you have to specify your usage then you will know which hardware is better for you.
no point asking here which is better because both is for different purpose.
ram can self upgrade for MBP but MBA can't self upgrade.
if you're planning to stick to this mac for a long time, then get Apple Care.
if not don't bother getting one

If you break the case, you might not get warranty. Even the HDD.
You can get 1TB drive from C-Zone lowyat or Digital Mall, it fit Unibody MacBook Pro..

Some people needs space, due to applications, softwares and games bro. Also, most students uses their MBP to be their primary computer.

but if you only get much space without the increase of speed. it would be quite lagging. no point to get 1 tb of space if its take a couple of minutes accessing it. lol

Hi,

Wondering if anyone would advise me on choosing a high performance memory for my Macbook Pro 15"? I've just bought it less than 2 weeks ago but noticed that whenever I use Parallel Desktop, it sucked up the resources and made the notebook go slow. Yes, I'll be using VM a lot.

Any recommendation?

Cheers,
Jeremy

actually the more free space (by percentage of the hdd total space), the faster ur computer will run. but not that noticeable la

i think high performance ram is only for overclocking purposes. if u dont overclock, they will perform just like standard ram. the ram speed is tied to ur cpu's FSB. correct me if im wrong.

try adjust the ram made available for ur virtual machine. maybe half of ur total ram? 2gb is fine for me... for fusion3 + win7 32-bit la. upgrade to 8gb if u dont think u have enough.

my experience with 8gb. i can tell u 4gb is quite sufficient. 8gb really hard to utilised all. I use PD6+window xp, excel, safari, movie, Photoshop and etc only reach 6gb once... Normally usage level at 4gb only.

Hey, I plan to upgrade my MB Alu's HDD to Momentus XT. But I've heard different reviews. Some days there are freezing etc. Any Momentus XT users care to clarify?

MomentusXT user here...No freeze. There is a new firmware not long ago. I would suggest to flash it if your still on old version

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me if Kingston (KTA-MB1333/4G) is compatible with Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011?

I suppose I can install 2 x KTA-MB1333/4G to get my 8GB memory upgrade ya? (Not sure if this is the right way of upgrading to 8GB)
