Maybe you have sensitive ears. Most ppl did not notice that. You can take out the subwoofer (cut the cable) but you won't get boot chime if you do that. And I think you don't want to do that.

my sis said i got "detailed hearing".
she had her for 3yrs and she didnt notice anything. then she said after a few listens she realised hers has it too or maybe because i had brainwashed her into thinking there was a problem.... rclxub.gif
i decided to leave it as it is....

Hi there, got a MacPro3.1 running S.Leopard.

Of late the display goes pixelate on random timing. After a 10-15 minutes shut down. it will run again. I have clean the heat sink of the graphic card and re apply the thermal past. I have even change the monitor.

BTW the display card is ATI Radon HD 2600 xt.

Hi there,

Can you explain what you meant by "After a 10-15 minutes shut down. it will run again. "

You meant your Mac Pro will self power up after 10-15 mins of shutdown?

Ha ha..How I wish. After a 10-15 minutes shut down. and a re boot normaly will solve the pixelate prob till it show up again later in the day.

Side note the system did not freeze as you still can see the mouse as it move and do a proper shut down.

Which card are you using? There are certain card that known to have issues.

And what port are you connected to? Full size DVI? Mini Display?

The basic troubleshooting you can try is using different cable or different port. Re seat the card to different slot. Reset PRAM.

We have encounter similar issue on a Mac Pro with dying graphic cards, weeks later the owner reported the symptoms the card gone totally, no display on power up. A replacement is required.

@dreign, HD2600 is one of the problematic card. Since it's working on different slot, just monitor it until the symptom come back.

Reset PRAM: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?pa...6/en/26871.html

The card only available via Service partners as replacement parts, will cost around RM700.

The mac still giving me problem this morning.

Is there any budget card that I can use. The mac mainly use for running Illustrator and Acrobat only.

AM having some issue with suitcase fusion core 2. User clams it related. but I thnk otherwise.

It's known. The only active service center in KL are:

VR Tech @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng
QCD @ Berjaya Times Square
Machines HQ @ Mid Valley Norrth Point

Here's the proper website to check service center: http://www.apple.com/asia/buy/locator/svcindex.html
