you're still missing the point. the problem is we Malaysians have low quality wall-sockets. That's not Apple's problem, is it?

Especially those abused one in Starbucks. So Starbucks junkies be warned. I once saw with my own eye spark and smoke came out from one of the plug, lucky wasn't my charger that plug into it.

Luckily for any starbucks junkies with mac, the battery can last very long unless anyone plan to stay there for breakfast till closing

I got those static shock few times in first few months then its all gone now. Can't recall where or which socket I used to though back then.

@xaw5126 If we have low quality sockets then why other electrical devices dont get statics like MBs? This is apple's problem right?

@tarvalslain87 firstly, how many companies build a fully aluminium bodied laptop? Apple's been doing it since 2005 (Al PowerBook G4)

secondly, it happens onl if the customer's wall-socket is inadequately grounded... again, not Apple's problem. I've used my previous Al MacBook Pro with just the adapter (no extension plug) on different sockets, and some of them do give me a minor zap, and some don't.

if you're really convinced Apple should fix it, don't complain here and please don't try to convince me. Contact Apple via email, phone, write them a letter and convince them to fix it. www.apple.com/contact smile.gif

peace out...

LOL.. Ok so not Malaysia's plug are the only one facing it... So whats the point of giving that plug if it is a known problem? Why not just give the longer one which can solve the problem? and why not the shorter one have the same feature as the long one that doesnt produce static? Im sure they charge us for the plug right?

Added on April 30, 2010, 9:10 amShould lodge a complaint to apple for this small defect...

Yea called the apple store... But too bad I dont have my MBP with me didnt manage to give them my serial number... But they asked me to call them back later... Ive told them that it shouldnt happen and they said yes but need a proper grounding and I asked him why the other connector doesnt give this problem and he diverted my question and ask me to call back later.... =(

I spoke to someone with an american accent... So do you think local apple reseller employs that type of person? Of course not. And yes I called the number that you stated there duh...

Pay what attention? Pay attention to your useless comments? I guess not.

I doubt Applecare routes to India. I've called a few times, I'm guessing Singapore with the accent.

They have routing to multiple countries. Back in those days when they aren't that strict we actually get to chat a bit. Some in the past I spoken to are in Aussie, Hong Kong, US and India.
