I bought my Grab-A-Deal ticket last Sunday night but did not receive my e-ticket. Called up MAS the next day asking them to resend they said they will send. Few hours later still haven't received. Then called up again.. and provided alternate email address. They said they will send and i should be able to receive by end of Monday or latest Tuesday morning. Still didn't receive anything on Tuesday so i sent them an email instead cos i fed up of calling (have to wait for at least 15 minutes before someone answers your call). Now it's already Friday and still i didn't get any reply nor my e-ticket. Very good. mad.gif

MAS service is worse than Airasia. Last time i made some changes on my Airasia booking but didn't receive the amended itinerary. I called up Airasia and got my itinerary on the same day.

Talk about 5-star. shakehead.gif

Look at your SPAM folder.

I never have this issue. I always book MAS but always receive itinerary immediately after booking. I'm using GMail.

I did check my Spam folder constantly but it wasn't there.

By the way, that only happened to Yahoo mail. I booked another flight after that and this time i used Hotmail. I received my itinerary ~1 hour later.

Anyway, i've received the itinerary on my Yahoo yesterday. They took almost 1 week to do this.

Yahoo?

No wonder you did not receive the ticket.

For me, yahoo mail is suck. When I use Yahoo mail, almost every time when my friends send me important email but I never receive it, and not even in the junk folder.

That's why I switched to GMail.

Sorry for out of topic.

For the benefit of those who is in my situation, I was contacted by MAS recently and they offered me some offers as compensation for what they did to me. If you are in the same situation as me, please lodge a complaint with MAS and the National Centre for Customer Complaints (NCCC) and insist on taking this to the senior management and Board of Directors of the company. MAS has misrepresented itself and is misleading the public.

The Grab-A-Deal promo currently is just a gimmick as right before this they offered the same prices to the public but now they want you to register with them as a member so that you can get the cheaper rates. Any way you see it, it is the same but more hassle now given you have to register with them.

Contact a travel insurance company.

So far, I know a lot of insurance company (Kurnia, etc) offer travel insurance.

goto the MAS main page, and select the MHInsure on the bottom right...where you can buy the travel insurance.

Doesn't really matter lah.. You can buy travel insurance from your agent, or if you don't have any, go to any travel/tour agency.

For Asia countries, up to 5 days is about Rm$35 and up to 10 days is slightly less than Rm$50.

It's better to get your own travel insurance too. The one offered by airline companies do not cover a lot.

Quite amazing you still believe MH is a full service carrier. Remember a simple fact of life - you get what you paid for!
*
They are a full service carrier but there call center in Malaysia is crap, i've had to call them a quite few times and after a certain hour the Australian calls get diverted to the Malaysian one.
The difference between the two call centers is chalk and cheese, Malaysian staff just don't want to help and tell outright lies, Aus one was all helpfull and had my tickets emailed to me (on two totally separate occasions) within minutes. I could go into it further but I think you guys know what i'm on about.

I mentioned this to my wife (she's Malaysian Chinese) and she said thats what everyone puts up with in Malaysia. She did tell me why, but I don't think I should repeat it!

So, the trick? get a cheap phone card, call the Aussie call center (after 7pm KL time) and you might get some service from them.

One thing I will say for MAS though, inflight service is very good, better than the likes of QANTAS. Seat pitch is best in class too, 34" in economy vs 31" in QANTAS, 32" Cathay.

MAS offer again. Go to London, tokyo and other international destination only RMxxx all inclusive. To US only RM 1xxx. Even though they are facing financial loss.

Hi, does anyone know roughly how minutes walk/run from doemestic arrival hall -> luggage hall -> international departure hall would be? I am quite worried on my "own transit" just to save $$$.

if you are landing in klia, the arrival hall is on the 3rd and departure is just on the 5th floor in the same building.
as easy as taking an escalator direct to the 5th floor

the issue would be the time it takes to recover your luggage.

if you are landing in lcct, even easier. just walk to the right corner of the building

Ya, I was told by my brother that the luggage hall takes about 15-20 minutes walk from domestic arrival hall. International and domestic departure hall is on the same area?
