authcate account is the account that you need to access computers in the library, connect to Monash Wifi, and also your personal Mymonash portal and also WES

Just asking, if I got the offer from Monash, but I don't want to accept the offer so soon, What should I do?

I applied for the July intake and the course they offered me was July intake too. What I mean was I didt expect a reply from them so soon and they imposed a deadline for me to accept the offer. The deadline is in March and I was actually planning to look at other universities too.

So now what I'm asking is is there any way that would allow me to accept my offer somewhere in May/June or probably reject the offer. Should I email the admission office and ask them? Will they accept such request?

I had a somewhat similar experience. My offer (Feb intake) had an expiry date of Dec 31, but I had to settle things with the JPA before I can accept the offer, so I just mailed the PSO, and they extended my offer by a month or two, I forgot.

Anyway, just email the PSO and state your reasons, they should be able to help you extend your deadline.

It'll be ready by the second semester..
but it's freaking expensive!

Hey anybody here got a place for me to stay in Melbourne? I going to either clayton or aussie campus, just study abroad program, not transfer, 6 months to 1 year. Anybody???

Orientation time won't be full. First week of semester then you'll start to have headache looking for parking.
Normally if inside full, then I'll go park at the other side of Monash. It is suppose to be open if the paid parking is full. But sometimes they say for staff only and don't let you in. Then there's the other one where some of us call it "Forest", it can go quite deep in and is hella dirty when it rains and if I'm not mistaken, we Monash students can only park at the side of that road. Right inside there's a security guard parking for Sunway students only. Sometimes they do check ID, sometimes no.

You can also try your luck at the shoplot areas. But do take note that since Raya last year, police have been issuing summons for those that park illegally.

Err, I'm usually late for classes! haha.
Reach around 8.45am lor, or 8.30am to be safe. You might park all the way to the back.
It also depends, usually Friday not so bad.

If you reach at 8am, normally still lots of parking available.

Yes you can't choose lecturers or lecture time unless some of them got two lectures.
Pn Nora is good. Her classes are interesting and even though she's strict in her marking, she gives you good advice. And if she's very satisfied with your work, she'll give you very high marks. She likes to do things in a more creative way usually. I got her as my tutor twice already and is very satisfied with her teaching.

No, don't every skip the orientation session. The orientation runs for a week and this is the time you get to know more about Monash and the course you are taking. The course counsellors will take you through your learning roadmaps and the choice of electives you have in your course. They will also take you through the systems - authcate, WES, allocate +, etc. If you skip this session, you will feel lost when you start your studies later. So, don't skip it. my 2 cents worth.
