'ghost'? as in monash being haunted? as long as you don't have to stay til late night, you have nothing to worry about.

I've camped in Monash before and stayed til 11pm for studying with corridoor lights turned off. Seems alright..

Dear seniors, I am a August 2010 intake for Monash Malaysia Bachelor of Business & Commerce. I need some opinion on which campus to go if I want to major in Accounting & Finance. Heard that Caulfield is or is it Clayton is a bigger campus with more facilities. And we can only transfer after we complete 8 units right? If I transfer in the last year of my studies it is possible right? And what about the fees, is it follow Malaysia fees of RM30k plus/yr? Thanks

exchange seems to be a cheaper option right if I am going to Monash Australia just for a change of study environment since transfer will costs more.anyhow which is better exchange or transfer?

Hey everyone, I will be joining Monash for the Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Communications Feb 2011 intake. Could anyone offer me any advice for the course or school?

Thank you : )
*
there are 6 core units in Business & Commerce
AFW1000 Principles of Accounting & Finance - pretty much manageable if you have studied Accounts before
MKW1120 Marketing - there are 'easy' weekly submissions every week, and the most stressful is the positioning essay other than that its ok
i am afraid thats all i can tell as I have only done 2 units, the rest i havent done it. maybe the seniors can give better advice

the best is if you can get into Clayton, if not Caufield is good too. Clayton is the main campus of Monash and the biggest. I heard they are changing the one in Peninsular from Bachelor of Business & Commerce to the same one like Caufield.
Unless your going there on exchange though I think you want to do an inter-campus transfer, once you transfer you will not be paying Sunway Campus's Fees anymore, you shall pay the fees like any other international students in Aussie, which right now amount to about AUD$ 31k per year which is about RM 94k and it'll probably increase more in the future.
*
according to the Course Management Office people in our orientation last August, if you want to go to Clayton you need to take Business & Economics statistics. may i know what is this subject about? Is it the same like A Level statistics? And what is the difference between business stats and biz & eco stats. thanks

You heard bout that too?
What did your friend say?

strict marking scheme not really as long as you got the main points you get the mark and also it depend on who is your lecturer. If you get a fussy lecturer, then its not your lucky day lah!
impossible assignment tasks.not really too, the lecturer will explain it really thoroughly not just pass you the assignment paper and here go do it on your own
regarding exam questions not related to lectures notes.its NO too except when the examiner feel like want to test you then it may be the case, however your lecturer will prepare you for it

And this is for Business courses so far 1st year 1st semester

Added on November 23, 2010, 8:55 pmoh yes Monash open day is 12 dec on a sunday from 10-4pm

Added on November 30, 2010, 10:52 amhi there any seniors can provide me info regarding transfer to clayton/caulfield?
i know that clayton need at least 70%,while caulfield 65%.
tried to ask at course management office but they give very little info i.e. should be compatible.
tried to email clayton/caulfield also but got very little info also.
and from this forum i read about some1 saying that some units that we take in Sunway is not the same there.
any1 mind to give some info on the units that are not same? I read Company reporting AFW 2491 is not same.then another issue Msia ts Bachelor of Business & Comm, but in Caulfield/Clayton its Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting & finance)

I am going to Monash in the Feb 2011 intake and planning to do Business and Commerce. However, I have not done any accounting or economics subjects before, will it be hard to cope with the new subjects or will there be guidance and teaching from a basic level? Also, can someone recommend some accounting/economics books that I should get in preparation for the first semester?

Thanks
*
hi there
the accounting which is part of your compulsory subjects is a basic level unit which means it suits for people who have not studied Accounting before.
book for Accounting? you mean the textbook that we use for Accounting course or other books for Accounting.if textbook we are using Principles of Accounting & Finance from John Wiley & Sons. its green in colour
if other books i suggest you get a Form 6 level Accounting textbook

i'm feb2011 intake student.....doing business n commerce... any senior got any advice to give me ? cuz i'm kinda nervous....

dont need to worry much about marketing coz its memorising that matters, accounting should be easy too, management the assignments will kill you if you get into the wrong direction, microeconomics its ok provided you practice a lot on the graphs.

if i did see the correct form for transfer.there is a section where you need to give your reasons for transfer. this is like writing a personal statement to enter some of the 'popular' unis

It does matter if you have already did a year 12 equivalent subject.
For example if you did SAM before and did Math so you would have cleared the year 12 math pre-requisite.

The person probably assumed most people there have not cleared it since the Bachelor of Business & Commerce which is offered in Sunway only requires year 11 math.
*
so can anyone confirm that those who have taken year 12 equivalent Maths subject, do not have to take Maths for Engineering ENG1091?
