My L5 JBJL is due for servicing.
What engine oil you guys use? 5W-30/10W-30 mineral/semi/fully synthetic?

meaning no problem wan la..? K&N brand how much? lol..

I assume you've ran your current engine oil as a break in?
I'm using Chemlube 5-30. Awesome oil. Fully syn. Contains ester.

HKS mushroom I dare say no prob for 1st year;p
K&N open pod if you find those half cut are cheaper. Brand new rm200++ and wanna buy the wash fluid,rm70++.

HAHA!! well, 2nd year will be ok too personally..the element lasts really long lo. except those that u straight get from halfcut, not knowing how old dy lo. once you spend abit of rm on a new element, no worries. beats KNN

erm, the 150MM size mushroom hks filter abit hard to find, halfcut conditions only unless some performance shops or mech have old stock lo.try mudah.very likely to find one there.or those kancil forums like kcarlife.

if your buyin the smaller sized 150mm,there's no fake out there so far. those that are imitated are the 200mm ones so dont worry.hehe

i have a kancil year 2003, currently i having a lot of problem due to weird sound coming from the engine compartment. It was like kuk kuk kuk sound when steering turn to the left and straight but right ok.

1. Firstly go to workshop and suspect the drive shaft, after change rm 2++ still got sound.
2. Then change it again, still got sound.
3. Workshop mechanic suspect the valve shaft got problem, which produce the sound. ( if need to be overhaul and cost me a booom )
4. Go to other workshop , foremen tell me that steering rack loose. need to be change. ( turn left got sound but turn right ok o )
5. Brake ok. (check already with other people.)
6. Tyre? bearing? gearbox? maybe.

can u guys help me up. currently i am using it since i not confidence to let my wife to drive it around at let my wife drive my other car.

Changing my Kancil tyre soon.. stock rim size.. currently using Good Year, its quite good but quite noisy.. i want some recommend of "not bad" tyres with cheap price.. at least a better grip during rainy days.. i got into accident last year due to lousy cheap thailand tyre.. luckily not so serious.. cost me RM280 to pay that car owner just a week before CNY..

I just had mine changed to Falken Sincera 155/70/12, all four of them. Although made in Indonesia, I find them grippy and quiet. They won't last long though as they are of soft compound. Of course during rain it is grippy since tyre contact is small with 155mm width I got them for RM107 per tyre with balancing behind JayaJusco Cheras Selatan. Seems they have shifted their operations to Tmn. Tun Perak near the 2020 Foodcourt.

Added on July 7, 2011, 4:37 amMine has the sound too and when I had the radiator changed I told the mechanic about it. We took a drive and the sound seems subtle when driven slow. The mechanic then jack up the car and check the wheel assembly and did not find problems with the drive shaft, the lower arm or the steering tie rod. He deduced that it has to be the steering rack and advised me to go back to him when it gets louder. The drive shaft bellows were torn though and the mechanic said if you change it now and clean up the assembly and regrease it, the drive shaft will definately give way in a short time, so let it be.

At least he didn't charge me for this inspection and don't simply recommend me to change this or that.

Update:
Just got my car 14in OZ Racing F1 rims second hand made in Italy! not Taiwan. Traded in my L2s rims for it.
Had the rear guards rolled as well once i got home cause it was hitting it at every bump.
Now just have to lower the front by a little.

i just did mine on monday.. same thing.. turn right got kruk kruk sound.. straight dun have.. so i send to a shop in USJ 1.. recommended by a fren.. very nice mech.. so i reach there.. he tested my car.. say no sound.. so ask me to send go another trusted shop in sunway do alignment.. so i went.. they checked again.. say its lower arm.. so i drive back to USJ and got both arm changed.. after that i tot kawtim dy.. mana tau the sound become worse.. drive straight also got kruk kruk sound.. so i drive one round and back to the USJ shop n tell them.. check check check.. say its inner drive shaft gone pulak.. change a 2nd hand one RM130.. so now my car no more sound.. works well.. steering feels abit lighter.. just need to get the alignment done only.. no time..

Guys, is it recommended to get an open pod air filter for my kancil 660.

Modified the exhaust + extractor 3-1. Other than that,its stock

for me, yea.open pods will do you much good.

problem - when i drive the steering suddenly turn left and i heard "tok" sound
when i leave the car overnight,nextday i tried drive it..at first its okay after few km it start again..

can anyone help me?
