Just do a quick check on Singtel (Spore) tehy haven update any iPhone 3G S yet...no news from them. Think i might give them a care call cannot wait to "commit" myself. LOL my SingTel warranty hasn't expire yet, so i reckon that it can still fetch a decent price. This post has been edited by nokia2003: Jun 9 2009, 05:08 PM |

Indeed not many improvements in the neither outlook nor hardware...but in terms of software enhancement there is.....
I was looking something slim yet strong material n some elegant outlook... think there's will be tons of feedbacks from End users to Apple.co regarding the new iPhone 3G S.. |

What happened to my beloved thread?
In any case, for me, I may go the local,Maxis....possibly the contract route, albeit begrudgingly. Until there are more concrete news on how much this new model is, for the time being, it's "buying local" time. I hope more news pour in regarding the first 8 countries that will get their iPhone 3GS first. From those on that list, only Switzerland and Italy looks like a viable alternative to get it unlocked. Time to pull some strings and contact my contacts in those countries. If that does not work, then it's the waiting game till July. Scramble! |

taken out of the whirlpool forum, where this bloke, nickster12345 who currently lives in the uk has made some price comparison.
02 UK has released their pricing for their iPhone 3GS. QUOTE I live in the UK and have the 3G iPhone here on the o2 network. o2 have released their prices for the 3GS. On the 18 month contract I signed for with the 16GB 3G, the phone cost £149. The 16GB 3GS phone is £185 on the same plan for 18 months. So it's about 20% more expensive for the handset (but no difference in the plan). The 32GB 3GS is £275. So it's about 90% more expensive for the handset -v- the 16GB 3G. So as a general rule I guess you can assume that the handset price in Australia will probably be about 20% more than the 16GB 3G for the 16GB 3GS. And probably about 90% more for the 32GB 3GS. Other than that, the plans may well stay the same, just the initial cost/ongoing monthly phone repayment cost will increase. |

Owning my phone for almost 2 years, only made 2 video calls so far. Other than that, never use it, even to take photo.
So the dual camera isnt in my requirement list. |

Until there is better alternative, I'm depending on Maxis as well.
While current 3G owners may be right somehow in saying the updates are not major, it is for me since it'll be my first iPhone. I hope local availability will be July. |

The pricing for the Pay As You Go iPhone 3GS here in the UK (similar to a prepaid phone in Malaysia except that it is locked to the carrier) is ridiculous.
iPhone 3G 8GB - £342.50 (They did not bring the price down) iPhone 3G S 16GB - £440.40 (Ouch......) iPhone 3G S 32GB - £538.30 (OUCH!!!!!!) |
