I will buy it if it were fully unlocked. The previous iPhone 3G is locked to the carrier, so I believe they will lock the iPhone 3G S to their network as well. If that is the case, the answer to your question is no.

As an Iphone3G user for couple of months, it is a very good news for me with the update 3.0...the lack of basic functionality over the v2.2.1 was horrible and now OS 3.0 solved alot of those missing link..

anyone has any news for this new iphone3G just released on Monday in the united states? heard it is going to be globally on sale on 19th June. it is sold at a incredibly low price of USD$99 so i wonder does it mean it has less functions and memory than the old iphone? is it worth to buy or i should just get a RM3000 iphone....?

In my opinion, maybe Apple thinks that iPhone 3G is good enough for now. That's why they maintain the almost identical features with more power performance under the hood and some other touch ups like better camera hardware & magnetometer. So for 2009 they have this 3GS, I'm sure 2010 will be a new ground up iPhone to come. Better than previous 3, hopefully.

which country you are referring to? the real price for other countries differ from U.S so we cant give expected price, further more you have to buy it with contract.. usually with tax 10% to30% from the price, but id you ask your friend to buy it can pass the tax( by telling it was personal item) but only 1 or 2 item only, if bulk 10 iphone 3GS then surely cannot pass tax.

U have to sign a 2 years contract in order to get with that price.

Sure, I'm not expecting the A2DP for bluetooth due to hardware limitation.
However Video Recording + MMS should work since there are 3rd Party Apps that seem to work alright (Cycoder + SwirlyMMS) on jailbroken iphones.

Given that Apple has mentioned that neither is expected for the original iphone, i think its just a trick to get original iphone purchasers to upgrade, now that those on the AT&T 2-year contract is almost up.

On that same note, I am HOPING that the iphone 3.0 OS for iphone 1,1 would be released unlocked.

you cant compare it to a price like that because it bounded by contract, and even it was bound by contract, its different from other countries and here in malaysia price is from 2000 to 3000 with contract so you can expect the price usually around that limit.

what i heard is the O.S3 wont support mms for iphone 2g.... have 2 confirm back with u later on

confirm ke no mms in v3.0 for 2G? i've been using swirly mms on 2G iphone for some time.. works just fine.

hardware incompatibility? nah, it's just Apple way to screw with 2G owners and make them upgrade. that if its true lerr..

yes swirlymms can works fine but not with the default mms in os3, apple confirm that, but we can try and error when get the firmware on this 17 june then.
