If the new Iphone would be RM3,xxx then it wouldn't be worth it IMHO. I rather stick with the current one for the time being.

There's nothing wrong if you buy the current iPhone 3G even the new model comes out as the they all runs the same firmware version. For hardware wise features, might be vary.

I'd throw a couple of my own predictions into the mix. This is a "speculation" thread after all.
- bump in storage size, 32GB at higher end, and 8GB retired. - front-facing camera for iChat sessions. - Video recording - Streaming client inside the iPhone. We can theoretically do that now, with the internet radio apps like Last.fm, but I'd like to see the option to stream ANY content, not just audio. No more limited by storage size inside your iPhone, but streaming from your iTunes suppository as well. 32GB + 4TB iPhone FTW! This may further be achieved by allowing the "Back to my Mac" feature available NOW using MobileMe + new Time Capsule/ new Airport Express with AirDisk - Further expansion of the Remote function than just controlling iTunes, or Keynote. Talk to your Mac at home wirelessly via Bonjour to turn your Macs at home on, so that you can download those Tv show episodes, immediately when they are made available! This feature is already available between the PSP-PS3 integration, where you can connect back to the PS3 you paired with your PSP to turn it on while you are away, to download content off PSN Store. - Biometric feature. Lock others out other than the correct fingerprint scan. Or if facial recognition software is ready for primetime, unlock your iPhone only by your facial recognition. Superspy bebeh! The rest of the features I wanted are actually coming true this summer with OS3.0. Peer-to-peer gaming and file transfer, cut/copy/paste, and MMS, although I can live without MMs. |

QUOTE(guess19 @ Mar 31 2009, 06:24 PM) Well, even if you did install it onto your phone, you won't be able to sync with iTunes anymore. the 3.0b firmware requires your phone's UUID to be registered at their developer's portal before iTunes will sync with it (and iTunes goes online to check on this too) |

QUOTE(goldieboy @ Apr 1 2009, 10:46 AM) iPhone OS 3.0 beta 2 Download, Bypass the UDID registration for OS 3.0 first of all, thank you for the link.Has any of you try it? source: http://www.theiphonespot.net/2009/03/ i'm currently reading it with much enthusiasm. however i noticed this statement and i quote "After doing that you can unblock it and use itunes with the internet but if you connect your iphone be sure to block itunes access to the internet.". very risky indeed. i'm pretty much a forgetful person and if i did forget to turn the firewall on, i will be doomed for sure! |

Apple's second iPhone 3.0 beta that was seeded today offers the usual collection of bug fixes and improvements, but does introduce one new feature: users are now allowed 11 pages of apps (180 apps total) on your iPhone and iPod Touch.
The finding was posted with screenshot by TheLoopBlog and was subsequently verified by another user. The currently shipping version of the iPhone firmware only allows 9 pages of Apps (148 apps total). While the distinction may seem small, many users have already run into the 148 application limit in their day to day use. ![]() While Apple has been rumored to offer more robust application support in future versions of the iPhone operating system, no announcements were made during the iPhone 3.0 media event. Sometimes I find apple frustrating. Every year they'll just release something new making the older products slightly obsolete. Assuming you get the not-yet-announced new gen iphone, how long will it be till yours is outdated as well? =.="
But for now I'm already very satisfied with my current iphone 3g.. it's got almost all the functions I require and with the upcoming 3.0 I don't think this phone lacks anything else except for video recording (which I believe is not a hardware limitation.. apple should be able to release an app or fix for it right?). |

The thing about Apple that I dislike is that their new products are always tempting, iPhone 2G is good enough for me but still I'm considering iPhone 3G.

QUOTE(guess19 @ Apr 1 2009, 08:34 PM) Anything is a pain in the ass if you dont know how to use it. To those who does, it is an invaluable too and gateway to loads of entertainment material, and yes, even free ones. Want to drag and drop? Go back to Windows. iTunes goes one step further into managing your content with either the option of a lazy-arse ******* who just want to sync in content or for the neat-freaks who wants content metadata embedded into their library content. Perhaps you're used to the archaic ways of some no-brand MP7 player that appears as a storage device under Windoze and transfer/drag and drop it that way? Tsk tsk tsk, lazy lazy! QUOTE(BlueHeng @ Apr 1 2009, 08:45 PM) Sometimes I find apple frustrating. Every year they'll just release something new making the older products slightly obsolete. Assuming you get the not-yet-announced new gen iphone, how long will it be till yours is outdated as well? =.=" PErhaps you should UPDATE yourself to their release schedule rather than being frustrated for no reason. They have their iPhone 3G released for 9 months already, where were you? In a cave? It is not Apple's fault that you are not keeping up with their release schedule or their iPhone release roadmap. You snooze, you lose. If you dont want to feel outdated so soon, *gasp* buy them as soon as it is released, maybe? But for now I'm already very satisfied with my current iphone 3g.. it's got almost all the functions I require and with the upcoming 3.0 I don't think this phone lacks anything else except for video recording (which I believe is not a hardware limitation.. apple should be able to release an app or fix for it right?). To summarize this, if you're late, then you get left behind, there is no stopping technology. Me? Once July rolls around, that iPhone will only be outdated a year later, and I dont feel compelled to whine about it being outdated only after a 3 months of ownership. If you think that Apple is not adding new hardware and functionalities to their flagship money-making device, you're more naive than I thought. To keep people interested, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF EARLY ADOPTERS AND LOYALSUPPORTERS who believed in Apple, they will have to add new functionalities and that leads to additional hardware inclusions. It pays to be loyal and willing to take the plunge, if you're too scared to follow through, then bear the consequences. Be left behind. |
