it has already been "free" to upgrade from day 1.

why head all the way to klcc (not to mention the amount of traffic and people that you have to endure) and queue up for a service, when it can be done at the comfort of your home, for "free"? unless you are running into some difficulties which requires intermediate level attention.

and personally, i don't like the idea of hooking up my iPhone to another stranger's PC/MAC (given the fact, he can access my P & C information inside)

seriously, maxis has really kick-arse (sarcastically) ideas to show that they genuinely care for their customers and is able to provide top notch, first class after sales services.

Tried to install OS3.0, after finished install.. my phone is only showing the connection to itunes and "slide for emergency".. tried connect to itune, getting error message (0xE8000065). Btw, mine is maxis set.

Tried to press the Home and power button together few times, but cant help...

Anyone can help?

Don't you also get a free update using iTunes at the comfort of your own home? But if you happen to be in KLCC and can't wait to get home for an update. It works too.

Try restart ITunes. I hit the same thing, but after I restart ITunes, it continued Synch process and my phone was activated.

now only can install new os3.0 to my phone..

n jsut now went to ask my telco provider which is Optus at Australia here and asked about new iphone 3gs..they said they MAYBE can provide a free upgrade to current 3g user but depends on ur monthly usage(which means is it every month also exceed the usage to get higher change to free upgrade).they called me to come again after iphone 3gs available here

Before upgrade to 3.0 i have using DIGI...

After upgrade this morning and typing all the details for DIGI...and try to send out can't but can received....then typo word diginet..still can't send out...change to Maxis card....can go to safari but still can't send out mms...any idea what went wrong? Mine is singtel one..thanks

is tethering available for digi users? cant seem to find the option to turn it on in phone..

Anyway to all you hopeful people (about upgrading to iPhone 3G[S]), AT&T has apparently relaxed their stand that 'non-qualified' users pay the full price for the upgrade. Now they have relaxed their criteria and allowed most to upgrade to 3G[S] at full subsidized price or $199/299.

Of course, this is not related to how or any Maxis's implementation is going to be. But it'll be good if they will provide a 'path' for its us.

for some weird reason, my voice memo function is not working >.< tested my colleague's iPhone it works but for mine it does not record anything. does this mean that my mic is busted? but I can still use it for speaker calls and such.

Have you tried a restart? Otherwise follow the procedures of resetting and last resort --> full restore before going over to Maxis or 'others'.

I am using SingTel set with Maxis (not official iPhone plan).

I just did normal upgrade. Carrier settings changed to Maxis 4.0

Went to Messages, camera icon automatically there. Tested send out MMS no problem

Then went to Settings -> General -> Network -> Internet Tethering

At first ask to either call Maxis or got to Maxis website. I was perplexed. Then I went to the same screen again. Now I can either turn on or off the tethering.

Once it has been turned on, now its time for pairing with your computer (Bluetooth) I went to my notebook's (VIsta) Bluetooth Devices and clicked Add. Windows will detect as a phone. Select to add. The screen will show you some pin no. Key in that no into your iphone. Once you have keyed in, your phone will appear in the list of Bluetooth devices.

Next step, go to Network and Sharing Center. Select Setup a new connection. After that a dialog box will appear, select Bluetooth Personal Area Network (PAN). After you click next, it will ask you which device. Select the device that you have added earlier. Then Click Connect. Wait for few seconds and your tethering is up and running. Well at least for me. Hope this helps

Yeah I restarted the phone after upgrading to 3.0 then I also reset the phone several times. If I blow really hard I can hear part of that static. So your suggestion is to try to do a full restore?
