(btw worth of upgrading FQ from 2.01 -->2.1?)
Not a problem and yes as =Hanxz= said...most definitely on the FW.
As you guys probably already know, Google Maps Street View is going to be included in the upcoming FW2.2. My friend and I were just comparing the GPS capabilities of my iPhone and his Nokia N96. Of course his map is very impressive with the Nokia Maps software but I drew out my trump card and showed him what my phone can do.
Of course, the bad news is Malaysia's Street View will be quite a long time off from now unfortunately. When Google are you going to send your Street View Car to our country??
iPhone Generation : 2G Current Firmware : 2.1 iTunes Version : 8.0.1 Computer Platform : Vista Jailbreaking software : QuickPWN Problem Encountered : No Service
Steps Had Taken (list down) : It's my friend's iPhone which he bought from U.S. The Problem of No Service of this 2G iPhone first started after the iPhone fall from the chair while it was in his pocket. At that time the Firmware was 1.02. After that fall, the iPhone had very bad reception of signal (only 1 bar), then after a few days it only says No Service. I thought by updating the firmware to 2.1 (Update button in iTunes) would help but after updating to 2.1 (then Unlock & Jailbreak using iClarified method), the No Service is still there. I have tried 2 sim cards and I still get the same problem. For now, I guess its not the sim card as when I insert that same sim card to another phone, the signal strengh is full and I can make and receive calls. I can only assume that probably it's hardware related but thinking it was just a small fall, it shouldn't of have damage the iPhone.
Steps taken: 1. Turn on the airplane mode and turn it back off after a few seconds - result: I still get No Service 2. Restart iPhone - result: Maxis signal about 1/2 bar then after a few seconds, I get No Service.
There is this site [http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive/index.php/t-449182.html] that recommeds to use iBrickr but I am not sure if it's for firmware 2.1 based on the steps described there.

Cube is a new-shooter game available in AppStore. IS totally free and open source. Virtually permitting us to relive those games in style Doom or Quake directly on our iPhone and iPod Touch. The controls are perhaps a little too sensitive (for direction) and the touchscreen (for walk, jump and shoot). There will be continuous updates version 1.1 release 1.2, but for the moment AppStore is only 1.0 weighing the beauty of 42.8 MB.
iMobileCinema: Flash support for Safari (jailbreak)

Adobe Working on Flash For iPhone.
One of the most requested features of the iPhone has always been Flash support. I know there are quite a few things that many of you would still like to see implemented into the iPhone but, among the most requested of these is Flash. Some of you might already be up on this but, I thought I would pass it along. Adobe had their MAX event this week (Nov.16th-19th) and during this event they talked about Flash on mobile devices. Apparently, they well underway to implementing Flash on Windows Mobile devices and as well as the G1 (Google Android). So, what does this have to do with the iPhone? I think it definitely brings us a step closer to seeing Flash for the iPhone. It seems that Adobe is ready and willing but is still waiting for Apple to give them the go ahead. Below is a quote from an article by MobileCrunch:
“‘We are working on Flash on the iPhone, but it is really up to Apple.
One of Apple’s objections to Flash is that it is a CPU hog and is not optimized for the ARM11 processors that power the iPhone. In what seems to be an effort to address that concern, Adobe will also be announcing a closer collaboration with ARM to accelerate the adoption of both Flash Player 10 and Adobe AIR on ARM-powered devices.”
This ability we now have to spawn background tasks means we are one step closer to the 3G soft unlock. We have a clear path to follow, and “all” that remains is the implementation.
A quick summary of the key 3G-unlock-related achievements we’ve made so far:
Unsigned code execution on 3G baseband Reverting 01.45 baseband to previous versions Patching of static text (the AT&V demo) Injection of AT routines (the task list demo) Injection of background tasks (this demo) Now it’s on to overriding the baseband code that enforces the carrier lock.
A high-quality version of the video is available via bittorrent here.
P.S. That “One more thing!” text is being generated by the backgrounded “steve” task at 5-second intervals. The “A0” is the task’s priority.
P.P.S. Remember…don’t update to official 2.2 when it comes out if you ultimately want a 3G soft unlock!
the dev team is not far from a soft unlock for i3g now...
I wonder how many folks are waiting for this. The dangers of pioneering software unlocks versus the possibility of using your locked Aifontriji without blowing up, HyperSim style!
I'm not sure about others, but I'm super excited for Google StreetView. Hence my motivation to get 2.2. Holding out 2.2 because you want to try out version 1.0 of an Aifontriji software unlock sounds like a painful pill to swallow. Thank God for fully unlocked units.
problems with your chinese ah beng accent? well you are not the only one in the trouble!
Added on November 21, 2008, 9:32 amhas anyone realised the growing trend of one post members coming in to ask questions (usually with a header of "urgent help" et cetera), so badly that they have to open brand new threads without checking the pinned up threads first.
however, that's not even the worst part (i'm okay with that as one can act desperately when in despair); they create these threads and then go offline and hope to see help come flooding in the next day when they do login WITHOUT even saying thank you thereafter.
nice... cherry on top of everything. that's why i have refrained myself from posting on threads like these from now onwards.
