Jailbreak when u need to and not because everyone are doing it (this only applies to iPhone 3G official unlock version). iPhone 2G still need to jailbreak so we can activate and unlock the phone ... so no choice la ...have to jailbreak.

Video recording? Then u better check out Cycoder or look for someone already jailbreak and have cycorder. That app rocks big time.

I am looking into buying unused/used 8GB AND 16GB FIRST GEN / 2Giphone BOXES.

I am looking to pay RM 50 for the 8GB box, and RM 100 for the 16gb box. Price for the 8GB im willing to negotiate, however for teh 16GB i stand firm.


The box MUST contain the Outer and Inner box, Folded Cardboard Manual holder, Manual, disclaimer, and the plastic phone platform.


I DO NOT REQUIRE THE PHONE, HEADPHONES, CHARGER, CABLE, and DOCK.

They should be of good condition, with no dents or major scratches.

Of course i've posted this on the Garage Sales section, but just an additional post here for exposure. The reason im looking for these itmes are for collection/display purposes. =)

Hit me up on the PM guys if youd like to get rid of them boxes for cash. =)

Its fine if you dont, im dont blame you for not udnerstanding my predicament.
You see, im a toy colletor, and like-minded people with the same interest as me pay great attention to not only the goods within, but the box that come with it.

Hence why there are grades such as C9, C8 etc for the BOXES of TOYS. But im sure you would know the gist of what im trying to convey here. In anycase, i share the same feelings like i do for my toys just as i do with the iPhone (as well as most of you here who very so dearly love this gadget).

So, all im trying to convey, is that i view the whole package of the iphone the same way as i view and feel for my toys. But like all purchases one isnt always so lucky in getting nice boxes, while i have two sets (16gb / 8gb) first gens, they both did not come with claudia schiffer-like boxes.

I hope this helps you in further fitting into my shoes. Cheers ! =)

Yes. After restore the iPhone same like what you just bought. Everything original without jailbreak.

I think im screwed. I just upgraded from 1.1.4 firmware to 2.1 but iTunes just say The SIMcard inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.

1 question: I believe almost everyone here upgrade to FW2.1 already. Anyone feels that its laggy when it comes to Contacts and Text and sometimes when you are typing a msg?

Nope. Infact i hardly on the iPod. I usually play games to keep me entertained.

Before upgrading, everything was fine. But after upgrading to FW2.1, my text will lag up to 4 seconds.
That means... everything habis even my contacts?

Iphone 3G can official unlock, but it do require $80 for official unlock and the box will open by staff to unlock.

BTW, refer to some forumer, you can unlock it by urself. Thanks.

Its Optus prepaid Iphone 3G, but its locked to Australia network only. So we still have to pay $80 for official unlock. TQ

Its locked with Optus Network. Pay A$80 more to get official unlock. Or u can unlock it by urself.

I cant unlock for you, coz I don have time to do it. I went back Malaysia for few days only. And I got a lot of thing to do in Malaysia. hehe.. Anyways, I can unlock it at Optus shop, which mean u can get a official unlock Iphone 3G 8gb for RM2292 and 16gb for RM2692. Thanks.

I got a friend went back to malaysia last month. And he unlock his Iphone 3G by himself. So I am pretty sure that u can unlock it by urself. THanks.

Erm, may I know what is turbosim? What is the differ between activate and unlock?
My friend's Iphone 3G can work in Malaysia and he didn't pay for unlock fee at Optus. He told me that he unlock it by himself. Thats why I said that he can unlock it. Anyways, I will call him later to double check with him. Thanks.
