Yay! Finally got my dream card, XFX GTX285 Black Edition, I'm cool now! smile.gif
When I run ATITool to scan for artifacts, the card screeches, any idea why?

also should consider your PSU, will it enough to power up 9800GX2, it really Power-Hungry & need a 6-pin & a 8 pin power socket.
correct me if i'm wrong.
*
yes, need 6pin + 8pin socket for additional power
they run a bit hot under load.

of course its ok.it even runs more stable using stock speed (and longer life time). nod.gif
but if u really wanna use every bit of juice ur gtx260 has to offer, then feel free to OC. flex.gif hoho.

@ametzer
yep.

btw, which one is more feasible:
-buy 1 gtx285, later when newer card came out, buy another gtx285 and sli.

or

-buy 1 gtx285, later when newer card came out, buy the newer card and sell the old gtx285.

what i meant here is, i maybe just going to play using a 22inch screen. if i want the top notch performance with the best value, should i go for option 1 where usually after newer card arrived, the older card price gonna decrease rite? but i wonder if im going to upgrade further [no trisli], howthe price of the 2 gtx285 when im gonna sell em [lets say after 3 years?]?
or
should i go for option 2. dont have to buy new psu, cooler interior, lesser gtx285 price degradation, and i more pcie slot for something else.

haha, looks like option 2 not so RUMIT comparing with option 1. unless u alrdy hav mobo, and psu prepared for sli tech..hehe

p/s: should at least try for SLi, its not like having more greater performance or high end gc.its unique structure inside ur chassis. with multiple cards, cool ah..

Yup that's right. It's a great experience to try multi gpu solution. But if u r not interested in the 1st place, then option 2 is better.

theoratically yes. but not proven. actually anything that has passed the warranty period is non of their (manufacturer's) concern anymore. big brand such as BFG and EVGA have lifetime warranty, those are the brands which u can really have a peace of mind.

Corsair, PC Power & Cooling, ULtra X3,Antec, Silverstone & Cooler Master, etc are good PSU w/ 750w will be safe . Don't run your PSU at Peak load. but if you going for Quad SLI, then choose PSU more than 1000W.

lol, i didnt know ferrite chokes could make screeching sound, when i go back i'll try to listen if my mobo would make screech sounds too or not since my mobo has a few of them. btw, could it be your fan spinning up when u stress/game on it?

added: at first i thought my card was noisy too but turns out its my cpu pull-fan which spins up cuz its connected to my mobo pwm connector. (nb is very near to gpu so its affected by the gpu temp too!)
