hye there all.

i have recently bought Palit GTX285

i've downloaded the latest Nvidia driver for my vista 64-bit. 182.08.

before installing,i already uninstalled the previous driver.i even disabled anti virus.then, when i tried to install the new driver,it takes about 5mins to install which is longer than usual.then finally,it says

"The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, run the installation again. Click Finish to exit the wizard."

after rebooting my pc, i can use the GPU as if the driver is installed properly.running 3D Mark 06 with ease.

what is the cause of the problem here actually?why it says system has not been modified? cry.gif

err..not good loh if u want pair it with 9800GTX/9800GX2..lets say bottleneck flex.gif
your graphic card can run 100% but your processor only 1 core@2.5ghz..this will slow down your gaming fps almost 2x
so if u want your gc run at 100% perfomance then u should upgrade your processor nod.gif

with RM600
E5200 =250
Asus 9600GT = RM350(maybe higher)

=RM600 fit wink.gif

Asus is the manufacturer.
Nvidia is the one who make the chips ( gpu core ), and sell licenses to manufacturer like asus, gigabyte , evga, xfx, palit ... etc .

haha, i havent even really used the card for a week, im currently in kampar, my rig is in johore. but i dont think i'll oc it yet, the card runs hot for me, i mean, i know 80C is normal for these kinda gpu but its still too hot for me tongue.gif btw my driver works fine for me. (previously i was using 8600gt, which was using the same driver as my gtx285, well i decided to uninstall and reinstall it anyway when i got my 285; what i did was, i uninstall nvidia physx, uninstall nvidia drivers, restart, go safe mode, delete the remaining nvidia folder, uninstall display drivers (in device manager), restart, install the latest drivers, restart)
ah, and oh ya, i didnt even install the bundled software that came with the box, i think its some palit software or something, never really bothered what's inside that cd. biggrin.gif

also should consider your PSU, will it enough to power up 9800GX2, it really Power-Hungry & need a 6-pin & a 8 pin power socket.
correct me if i'm wrong.
