So then, you are saying perhaps out there, the ones without the HDMI port but has H-IPS/VA panels lower class than your TN panel ultra-glare reflecting, HP monitor that will never ever beat any of the premium panels then?

I don't understand what's wrong with the ones who thinks there is a must for HDMI ports when you can easily get an adapter and change it given that you want a monitor without a HDMI port.

brilliant! HDMI is electronically the same as DVI, just convert the socket a bit, and add in digital audio support. So if that makes your HP w2408h with HDMI port superior, you can continue to live in your dreamland.

If I'm going to leave the computer on for a very long time without actually being in front of it, is it better to switch off the LCD monitor or let it just automatically go to power saving mode?

Which extends the LCD monitor's life longer?

HDMI exist on LCD monitor now is mainly for console. Like PS3. HDMI = DVI with sound signal. That's all.

DVI can achieve full HD.

Full HD is base on the resolution of the LCD not size of the LCD. Any LCD can display minimum 1920x1080 (1080p) is full hd LCD.
