Here's some review on how the cable differs.

The cable game - PC World

Summary:

They don't differ. Just go get a normal HDMI cable and a HDMI - DVI converter.
Else, you could just buy a DVI cable and a DVI - HDMI cable instead. DVI cables are dirt cheap anyways.

since the 2709w decreased its price to 2299, i'm really thinking of upgrading from my 2408wfp i bought at last year's pcfair. hopefully dell will give a great deal for the 2709w at this year's pcfair.

how much can i get for my 2408wfp? i'm thinking around 1300. too cheap/exp?

lolz what a noob. concerned about stuff that doesn't matter. you want high contrast? go for those 100000:1 plasma display la! doh.gif
those lcd with high contrast are dynamic contrast la ,that one is not the actual contrast . lcd true contrast stays in a range of 1000:1. and response time wor... u want 0ms display?it doesnt matter because there is no way to measure response time.20ms old samsung doesn't even lag. doh.gif just get your facts right lor before replying here like a noob. shakehead.gif
