A display has three options on how to handle non-native AR.

  • "stretch-to-fit" will distort the AR in order to not leave any black bars.

  • "scale-to-fit" will maintain the AR but scales to the maximum physical height or width leaving black bars where it doesn't fit, and

  • "1:1" will not scale or stretch and is likely to have black bars all around the visible picture if the new resolution is smaller than the native resolution.

I do not know, but I would expect that they can, by scaling the picture to fit. The only problem is the screen resolution, which might not be allowed, unless enabled via virtual desktop.

"scale-to-fit" is that the one at right hand side at my attachment?

these option seeting by button on LCD or software?

Guys, is the SAMSUNG T240 better than the SAMSUNG 2433BW in terms of Display Quality?

Please help me out as I'm looking for a top 24" LCD monitor; in terms of display quality.

My budget is around RM 1000

The usage will primarily be on 3D architectural graphics designing works, and 3D gaming.

(BTW, if SAMSUNG LCD isn't the best, then feel free to recommend me LCD from other manufacturers.)

Yes. And "1:1" is also possible if the video was exactly the screen size.

The LCD should have the option, somewhere. And perhaps under different names.

LCD TVs also have additional stretching options that stretches the video in slightly different ways that tries to look more natural than a dumb stretch-to-fit.

Initially I was consider to get AOC but um... never heard of it before though, later if any warranty claim it might be troublesome. Besides, I think AOC is relatively new brand... correct me if I'm wrong.

In the end I choose Dell.
