Yeah the money here is really good. Hopefully can pay off my house in Malaysia before I have to leave Australia.

Why is it so hard for you to get PR? I thought it would be easier for you because you studied in Aus.

lol, not much in that case.

The last person I did it for got me letter of recommendation from a senior engineer in a BHP Mitsubishi Alliance mine and a cover story haha, a bunch of good calls to my boss and so forth.

Before that another person turned down a job offer and passed it on to me in return, that's how I got my current OnG gig.

One of the first ones gave me insider info which I used for share trading biggrin.gif

I only take money as a last resort, I'm more interested in contacts, opportunities, insider knowledge and so forth.

So you working in BHP Mitsubishi now? I think my ex-colleague joined this company also and she said she is being paid 6 figures salary.

I can offer you opportunity also in the future. haha

Anyway I have passed my IELTS and doing my skills test now. If I pass that one, I will apply for state sponsorship in SA.

Who is eligible to apply for this TR visa? I am under visa 457 at the moment and have 4 more years to go. I might want to try this visa if I failed to get my PR by then.

Those who fulfill all the criteria for applying PR but fail to get enough points can go for TR.
Then you have 1.5 years to use whatever means to get the missing points.

Not with BMA. Their fatigue management like shit, safety isn't close to Xstrata and Rio and they make you work like dog + keja bodoh like doing homework. But a recommendation letter from them is good enough. 6 figure salary in the industry is pretty standard man. Getting 6 figures and doing 7 hours with no fieldwork, now that'special tongue.gif

I just got dumped on a project to build a power plant multi stage water filtration unit with a team of 5 and a note saying "It's yours, don't f*** it up". Great opportunity or shine or f*** up. Great eh?

I'm not sure if it's the same for all states, so please refer to the official website for more details. If you want to get a full licence in Australia, you'll have to pass both the theory and practical test. I don't think you can drive legally with just translation of your licence. For me, I had to translate my licence and show 100 points ID, sit for theory test and practical test. You don't really have to accumulate certain driving hours (unlike those who haven't gotten full licence before), as long as you pass the test, you get Australian full driving licence. Mind you, it's not easy to pass the driving test as it is much stricter in Australia so you probably need a few lessons getting used to 'proper' driving. My friend gave up after trying for a few times.
