Doing bachelor of IT ( business applications ) @ RMIT did twinning from Taylor's KL ( 1 year there ) then 2 years here 1+2 twinning program. so 2 sems in KL + 4 sems in Melbourne. I have a sibling who have PR already, but laws keep changing so bit confuse also? haven done my IELTS? how do i proceed with this? can i take in in adelaide or must it be in melbourne? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ps: how do I drive in melbourne? hehe. can our msian license be used? ...not a must.just that if parents coming over, maybe best to rent a car... |

QUOTE(empire23 @ Jun 7 2010, 08:41 PM) Bachelor of IT.....hmmm....i'm not sure it's on the SOL list. But it depends on what the ACS views your degree as being. but not my remaining relative ? I mean still got my parents back in msia?http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-ski...occupations.pdf or use a Remaining Relative Onshore Visa. As for driving, just drive lah, not rocket science and they recognize our lesen. Driving: i mean, i see from the Vic road, that Msian license need to convert or sit for their Aussie license instead? and some traffic rules different le... QUOTE(empire23 @ Jun 7 2010, 09:04 PM) You'll need to do only 2 things and the test is in manual? ( sorry 1) Sit for a written test (50 bucks) 2) Sit for a practical test (87 bucks) Extra tips 1) Go for at least 2 supervised driving lessons, they teach you the rules and stuff (should be 50 bucks an hour) 2) Always bring your passport and Malaysian license along 3) If you don't have a visa label, a VEVO printout is acceptable written test then need to wait 1 year smtg like that?? |

QUOTE(b3ta @ Jun 7 2010, 09:11 PM) i've been driving with my msian licence for almost 2 years now. the police accepts it. do i need to bring passport also? isour msian license valid for ID proof for us in melbourne? like clubs/casino?regarding the rules, it's almost similar to malaysia, just be careful of cameras and hook turns if ur in melb. and stop at zebra crossings. bring passport to those places bit troublesome and if lost...:S yea...bit diff the traffic rules with the hook turns.... my license is in BM? some ppl say need to convert to English version or something 3 months valid...that's why need to get infos from u guys!! and also for car rentals, example budget, racv rentals wahtever company, can I rent the car? what kinda details are needed? plan for maybe car trip once a while.. thanks!! |

QUOTE(empire23 @ Jun 7 2010, 09:26 PM) Around that lah. Ic ic, anyone wants to recommend a good yet cheap instructor?Your own car or you can use the driving school's car (remember that your car must be in tip top condition or you fail instantly, all lights must work, speedo must be accurate, wipers must wipe and so on lah) Supervised lessons are like Malaysia, go to driving school and ask for an hour or two to make sure you know your shit. I mean, get your brother and sister to sponsor you lorh. Just use Malaysian license, just don't memalukan us by crashing into an old lady or something. Common sense. The test can be in either manual or auto, if you take your test with a manual you get a Class C license, if you take the test with an auto, you get a Class CA (Automatic), meaning you can't drive manuals. But really, who gives a shite. Take the written test today, take the practical test tomorrow. All good. think last month near melb central traffic, saw an accident because of the left hook... nice info on the manual/auto thanks, i know what's my plan after exam liaw... |

QUOTE(almattitude_v1 @ Jun 7 2010, 09:24 PM) u can use malaysian license to drive, but u might need to bring IC with u too, coz the cops think the malaysian license is a joke coz its laminated... ahh ic ic, thanks, proof of age card? where can i apply for that? thanks! No, OFFICIALLY you CANNOT use Malaysian IC or drivers license as an ID, but SOME places accept it (like Crown, but depends on luck la, if security u dealing with knows about Malaysian IC and license or not)... Best to just use Passport or get proof of age card... Yea u can rent car with Malaysian license... Did that 2 weeks ago actually, took a drive to Port Campbell... No need any details, just license, and they do the rest... oh need credit card too if im not mistaken, or debit card, or some form of payment la... dono if they accept cash or not... thanks for the car rental info too QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Jun 7 2010, 09:29 PM) i would say the malaysian IC will work most of the time in crown (or else try another entrance?) haha...hmmm nais....thanks...but clayton far from my place oh oh oh, the notts bar in clayton accepts the malaysian IC (from what i heard) |

QUOTE(almattitude_v1 @ Jun 9 2010, 01:00 PM) and China... god damn... 2 years ago got Chinese friends from China... damn antisocial... always stick in their own group and never mix with others... and always speak to themselves in their own language... during english class also, they sit in their own group not speaking english... no offence la, but u travel to another country for what then? agreed..Indonesians too. I feel they have problem speaking in English, like it's so hard for them to speak in english, like need to convert from indonesian in their brain then translate to english...I feel annoyed when I see or hear these kinda people on the streets or anywhere here.Goodness sake you're in australia, speak english and practise instead of talking your country/mother tongue language... |
