How come it is so difficult to apply for PR here?

And my company did not want to sponsor me.

Balik kampung? I rather not. That is like the last option.

Dem...should have kept a good relationship with my HR manager.

Anyway I will still apply PR independently although it is really difficult. Should have applied last year when it was less strict.

But if I apply PR independently, will I get the PR for sure if I pass the points system? Or is it still subjected to immigration's decision?

Lol why didn't you apply it as soon as you can? The sooner you apply the better.
But oh well, good luck. If you've got  1 yr work experience in the field you studied and if you're on sol list and pass ielts. Shud have enough points what.
*
The problem is I am working in O&G and it is very hard to match the job description to what I studied. As well as linking to the occupations in SOL list.

I did not know I can apply PR last time as people were telling me that I had to wait 2 years before applying for PR. And this is not true at all.

I got Singapore PR so easily but this is really difficult. No confidence at all.

If you have enough ppints, half the battle is won. If you have a good immigration agent, sure win. My immi agent approval level is almost 100% and fast. Less than 6 months.
*
Half the battle? Means 50% chance? It costs $3k just for the admin fees.

You sure less than 6 months? That is almost impossible. Company sponsored is about 3 months and if you apply independently should be at least 1-2 years and it costs about 4k.

How much does your agent costs? Any contact details? Or discounted price? hehe

Yes, I admit I should have done some research earlier. But many people told me the same thing therefore I got 'tricked' and did not suspect it was wrong info.

I am in South Australia. I do not want to use agent as it will costs me another 4k. But if you say your agent's rate of success is almost 100% then maybe I will consider.

My agent is really really pro. If I pass ielts and have enough points I would have gotten my pr already.

I got my TR in less than 2 months. My workmate got her pr less than 6 months.
*
Okay okay, I know your agent really PRO. Can you please give intro your agent to me?

BTW, what is TR? Your friend is company sponsored?

My agent is in Brisbane. His price is $1800. I don't think there's anyone who charges 4k for pr. My agent is by far the most expensive usually around 1.2-1.5 k. Of course that is excluding $2575 pr application fee and health checks.
*
Erm...contact details? Or you not willing to share with me?

I was told 4k by the agents in SA. I asked two different agents.

I know I don't charge money for it, but what do I get in return lol? Your undying gratitude? tongue.gif

I generally do these favours for something in return other than money, that's how I landed my current job laugh.gif
*
So what can I offer to you in return for your help?

I am a guy btw.

Yeah the money here is really good. Hopefully can pay off my house in Malaysia before I have to leave Australia.

Why is it so hard for you to get PR? I thought it would be easier for you because you studied in Aus.

QUOTE(empire23 @ Oct 3 2011, 07:55 PM)
lol, not much in that case.

The last person I did it for got me letter of recommendation from a senior engineer in a BHP Mitsubishi Alliance mine and a cover story haha, a bunch of good calls to my boss and so forth.

Before that another person turned down a job offer and passed it on to me in return, that's how I got my current OnG gig.

One of the first ones gave me insider info which I used for share trading biggrin.gif

I only take money as a last resort, I'm more interested in contacts, opportunities, insider knowledge and so forth.
*
So you working in BHP Mitsubishi now? I think my ex-colleague joined this company also and she said she is being paid 6 figures salary.

I can offer you opportunity also in the future. haha

Anyway I have passed my IELTS and doing my skills test now. If I pass that one, I will apply for state sponsorship in SA.

Who is eligible to apply for this TR visa? I am under visa 457 at the moment and have 4 more years to go. I might want to try this visa if I failed to get my PR by then.

Can someone please tell me about the living costs in Brisbane. I am now at Adelaide but receive a job offer in Brisbane. I found some information on the net which says that we should consider 8% more in living expenses if compared with Adelaide. Is this true?

What is the average salary in Brisbane and also to live comfortably? Lastly, is Brisbane a nice place?
